How much is the actual model bikes to purchase ruffly?
The Yamaha and Ducati were both £19.99. I have done a few more, but havent posted them yet, a Honda CB500 and a Yamaha Virago, which were both £11.99, and a Kawasaki Z1 Ninja which is £35, though that one was a gift for Fathers Day.
I get them from the North East Model Centre just outside Chester le Street.

I’m a garden man myself so if I tried to do one of them I would be left with more pieces than I started with <laugh>

anyone else make them?
My son bought me one for Christmas 2019, and I spent a few weeks painting and putting it together. Really enjoyed doing it, found it very relaxing and therapeutic. I've done a few more since, and will put some pics up if anyone is interested.
This was my first one though, and was quite pleased how it came out, and after todays result it seemed a good time to post.
HMS VICTORY.

Me first husband did them, still does, I spent more time yawning in Beatties in Newcastle back in the day. It was like the blokes equivalent of sitting outside changing rooms in clothes shops :emoticon-0140-rofl:
We are best mates now and I’ve bought him one the last two Christmas’s. The shop just past Chester-le-Street on the way to Durham is fab and the staff are dead helpful if you want to buy any more
He swears by Tamiya models I’m not sure he’s ever done any others

Next one was a Yamaha YZF R1. Loved doing this one, really detailed.
This is the engine block.....

I sent this pic to my son who lives in Thailand, and he thought I had bought a real one.....

It was a photo of the kitchen, printed it out, and put it behind the model on a wooden table....

I was in just before Christmas when it was still open. The same young lad that served me last Christmas served me this Christmas. He remembered me, I told him he’d probably hide if he saw me next Christmas :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:

Anyone else paint Warhammer figures? I used to enjoy it although I wasn't very good at it, I'd cut heads and limbs off the crapper ones and glue them to the grass of other figures with blood splattered about just to customise them a bit.

I think I played the actual game once and didn't like it at all but painting the figures was alright.

I havent painted any, but ive watched a few YouTube videos of people doing it. There's some skill involved with that, some of the detail on them is amazing.

Do you paint the parts before you build it or afterwards?
Bit of both really, some of the smaller parts I do before. Using emamels, it means I have paint them and leave them to dry overnight, and fit the parts I painted the previous night. I leave them attached to the sprue, and stick them into some polystyrene.....like this.

I drilled out the holes in the brake discs with a 1mm bit.

I had the Victory kit in the 90's
Airfix though, not revell.
Think I or somebody stood on the hull or something during the build and it got thrown in the box, it may still be in the attic.
It's just as well really because doing the rigging probably would of saw me taking a lump hammer out of the shed and smashing it to bits :D
Still finding bits of it around the house like cannons to this day :D

The rigging and sails were a nightmare, I think it took me 4 nights to do it, so maybe around 8 hours or so.
Ah, the bloody cannons. I spent ages painting the things as per the instructions....only to find 90% of them go inside the hull, never to be seen again!!
I would have just painted the black part if I had realised earlier.

I remember sticking all the bits together that held all the parts and it looked more like the model than the model, gave them up as a bad job.

Last year staying at me caravan I bought a last airfix kit whilst shoppin fer booze in Lidl or Aldi of a willys jeep and trailer .
Built it while the mrs was at work and sat in the van boozing :D
Fookin thing's about the size of me thumb

Think i did the same. Painted the hull and decking, all the cannons.
I had a Vespa Scooter which I think was revell, I painted it red the same as the Vespa i owned.
I still to this day don't know how the eldest daughter, a toddler at the time, managed to get hold of it from such a high shelf and smash it ?
The Mrs probably knows more <whistle>  :D
Theres definitely a few airfix kits of cars and WW2 planes in the loft.
