RIP - Bobby Kellard

Don't know how many of you older ones have heard this, but Bobby Kellard passed away on 10th January. Sad indictment on the club that nothing has been said about it!

Great pocket rocket midfielder who always gave everything. Exactly the sort of player we need now!!

First player I ever saw do a step over.

Gritty little player, bit of a hard man in the mdfield, not Gerry Gow but the same type character, loved him, RIP Bobby

I’m pretty sure he was playing when I first started watching City, but I was too young to remember much about him. Was it late 60s ?

I am sure it was 68/70,there abouts, he followed another midfielder I liked, a class act called Johnny Quigley, we did well for midfielders back then.

Spot on Wiz. He then moved to Leicester City for £50k!

Great player, hard as nails, sad to see him leave luckily we had a young Gerry Gow waiting to breakout.

Seen him a couple of times playing in my early years as a City fan and remember his move over to Leicester, not really remembering how good he was etc, but defo a name remembered on the team sheets,, RIP Bobby Kellard.. Sad state of affairs our club forgetting those that make up the history of the club..

One of my favourite City midfielders, along with Quigley, Mann and Tainton, BK would run through a brick wall, a great leader on the pitch RIP

Back from the mid 60's to about 1980 City had a strong tradition of compact, hard as nails, tough tackling midfielders who were also skilful and could play, Johnny Quigley, Bobby Kellard and then Gerry Gow, they were the crowd pleasers of the day and hugely popular with the fans.

Sadly now all passed. RIP boys I shall certainly remember all 3 of you, you could all brighten up a defeat or poor team performance and never gave less than 100%.

Remember him well, and when we signed him from Portsmouth and how excited fans were with this signing.
I seem to remember him scoring a really important goal for us and would have said it was in our LC run of 1971 but he was at Leicester by then.
