Who would you choose to play alongside him Col?

Good question.
Murray if he comes, if not Dykes I suppose as he can win some headers and lay the ball off.
Imagine Charlie on the end of a couple of those chances today.

My initial thoughts were to have two wide players getting balls into him in the air or on the ground. I recall that he scored a lot of his goals by running across the defender at the near post. The winner in the Wigan semi and one against Villa at home immediately come to mind.

I thought the same today when those chances went begging, Charlie would've buried them.

Yeah, maybe.
We seem to be playing 3-4-3 A lot, so it could work.
Not sure he's that suited to it though.
I'd prefer 3-5-2, but then I've never liked 3-4-3.

At the end of the day, as long as he's on the end of the chances we keep making, I reckon he'll score a fair few.
How many times this season have we said, "if only we'd taken our chances"?
So at least we're creating them I suppose.
If that stops we'll go down I reckon.

Vargas or Kane? Hmm.

I'm not one for digging out individual players. But I think Kane should pretend he's playing for the opposition, then his passes will go to our players.

Terence Trent-Darby was subbed off for Liverpool the other night and was credited with giving away possession 38 times - a phenominal number, but primarily down to failed crosses. Kane must have had a similar number today.

Possibly, as I recall it, every time Kane attempted to cross it hit a Fulham player. But wasn't it him who played the clever ball into Chair ( in the Fulham box, mid-way through the second-half ) when he looked liked he scored but for a good save from their keeper? Just after the Bonne chance which their keeper saved.

My head's hurting now as what is the best way to play him with what we've got.

Perhaps he should do as the government want and act as if he has the virus and self isolate for the rest of his career.

Mind you, from what I saw of Thomas it’s a breach of the trades description act to call him a footballer.

He's only twenty seven, plenty of time to improve him. And he's ex-Chelsea, so he must have good stock. :emoticon-0107-sweat

I thought he played well! But then, did he do something good early doors, so that has maybe clouded my judgement for the rest of game and willing him to do well?
It's getting to be that desperate that I'm seeking any snippet for a sign of positivity. A bit like when Loic Remy scored on his debut away to West Ham, when I stupidly thought everything was going to be ok.

Kane had 2 or 3 good crosses yesterday in among the rubbish. I am surprised Warburton didnt bring Albert on for the short time he could have managed, sure he could have done a lot better for a little while.

What will the club do in the summer, if Charlie does well, say he scores 8 or 9 goals and keeps us up, will they completely change their wages cap to sign him permanently
