For a Black Lives Matter peaceful demonstration last June Trump called in heavy security. For this he did nothing other than use words that could mean to his supporters attacking Congress, mainly white, that they were doing what he wanted. It was one of his staff who called in more protection, but that was already too late.
Hopefully, the saving grace in all of this will be that everyone (or most people, at least) can now see Trump for what he really is - nothing more than a neo-fascist rabble-rouser. The GOP will be torn apart by this, and deservedly so. We might well see a generation of Democratic rule in the US, which would be a positive thing in my opinion.
I think you could be right, as the republican party could well split into two factions, one for Trump and the other against.
I'd say Trump Juniior has aspirations to be President too. If the Bushes could do it, so can the Trumps's. I think Trump Junior and Rudi Giuliani played large parts in encouraging that mob last night. Hopefully both of them will face justice for their roles. No doubt Trump will pardon himself and his two accomplices. Love to see the CIA going into the White House and dragging him out in full glare of the world's media. I always thought he was a nasty human being and he proved it yesterday.
Well said. I heard she had been a soldier who had fought in Afghanistan - she would have known how to kill in unarmed combat and shoot and was following the lead of her loser false prophet who encouraged them to go to the Capitol to overturn the democratic result. These things get ugly and even trained soldiers and police officers will panic and overreact. They did not have the luxury of waiting to see if any elected politicians in the path of the mob were attacked, injured or even killed. Personally I hope all those who who declare their pride at their own participation in front of the tv cameras is ruthlessly tracked down and made to answer for their actions.
Well of course there was one not so long ago who murdered the police officer trying to run into the House of Commons with a knife. He was shot quite rightly. The so-called 'victim' in Washington didn't get as far but let's not bleat on about how it can only happen in America. All around the world government leaders are protected by guns.
What hope have you got when, after all that happened, they still think like this... please log in to view this image Taylor is a staunch Trump supporter and recently travelled to Washington DC for a post-election pro-Trump rally. A photographer by trade, she was upset by the rioting but believes unsubstantiated claims that left-wing radicals were behind the violence. It was just heart-breaking to watch what was going on and the behaviour of protesters is just not like the Trump people I've been around. If it did come from any conservatives, then I condemn it. There's no excuse for violence. It doesn't change my support for Trump. The people that love Trump, that's not going to change no matter if he gets a second term or not. It just means we're going to hold out for 2024 and hope either he runs again or his kids do. Our country is going to go downhill over the next four years if Biden does take office. I'm actually moving today out of the city into the suburbs of a Republican county because I am afraid of how Democratic counties will end up under a Biden presidency. We're going to catapult towards socialism and communism. I'm worried for the country's future, but regardless of who takes office, we have a lot of healing to do. I hope we can all find our common humanity and embrace each other when this is all over, which is hopefully soon. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-55582166
Sounds fair I'm worried for the country's future, but regardless of who takes office, we have a lot of healing to do. I hope we can all find our common humanity and embrace each other when this is all over, which is hopefully soon
I wasn't being factional about this. A year or so ago, a black guy was shot dead while being arrested for a traffic offence. He panicked, fought with two cops, grabbed one of their tasers and fired it at them, albeit while was running away and looking in the other direction. At the time, I posted on here that while the guy had been an idiot to put himself in harm's way with trigger happy cops, using live rounds against him was totally unjustified. I feel the same about the woman shot outside the House of Representitives. She was crazy to do what she did, but I cannot but think using lethal force was disproportionate (I accept Col's point about it probably being legal and I doubt the shooter will face charges). And it's counterproductive. When I was watching Sky News, there were people trying to get in front of camera, shouting that the FBI had just shot one of their women. That simply ramps things up and increases the likelihood for more violence. I agree with others here, that the person most responsible for the mob on Capitol Hill, is Donald Trump. And the fact that he is now turning on the mob he helped orchestrate is despicable. It will be interesting to see how his supporters react to this. His presidency has been pretty much a disaster. His refusal to acknowledge climate change and then Coronavirus, withdrawing from the nuclear deal with Iran and withdrawing troops from Afghanistan without much thought or preparation have not served the US people well and have damaged the US's global image. Biden will surely do better. It's a pretty low bar to jump.
Warning before watching this (death involved) This is very good footage of what happened when babit was trying to climb through ""
Agreed about the phalanx of armed cops, not sure the secret service man can see them though, probably just seeing a mob try to break through the barricaded doors and her trying to climb through the window and she's also carrying a backpack which he wouldn't know is in there Unnecessary killing but ultimately she has herself to blame for trying to break and enter into a barricaded area with the gun pointed at her.
If a householder shoots dead a burglar trying to climb through a window in his house, the householder will be jailed. This is essentially the Tony Martin case
not in the states it is not. Also i understand that is the case in the UK. It was more my own personal opinion on the matter. Obviously, we like to err on the side of not having people just go out and kill people but a lot of people get prosecuted for unnecessary force which i disagree with personally
