So, it’s almost 6 years to the day that I hesitantly plucked up the courage to post and join you lovely bunch of people, after lurking for some time. Something had happened during a City game which prompted me to post and join in. Have to say, you made me feel so welcome (well, most of you!)
Despite the odd bickering, I think the camaraderie & support for each other when needed is great, including myself, despite being a new poster some came to my defence when they felt appropriate early on. For me, I’ve felt quite humbled at times, such a diverse group of people & experiences, at how when needed the support for each other has been genuinely offered. The highlights, the MH thread, honesty & support, positive responses to various funding appeals, and last but not least, Filey T. He will never know how many people he supported. Who’d have thought all of this from a bunch of mainly blokes on a footie forum.
RIP Tickles RIP Filey Tiger
Ah...my apologies Mrs B, I stand correctedHe was not a Trump supporter. Quite the opposite, he posted continually during the 2016 US campaign his disdain for him and insistence he could not win. He never posted again after Trump won.
The US poster who was vehemently pro Trump was Bengal Tiger.
I was being inclusive, the only city fanny we seem to have is Mrs Blue Bear, City Girl and a Tigress from Howden and all 3 are probably Michelle Dewberry!

I came across from CityMad along with a few others. It had been quite a good site but went downhill.
Is Charlie 1 still active, if that’s not to a personal question!
Exactly!!!! I'm a man of the world but I draw the line at labelling any woman as a bit of *****.It's derogatory, demeaning and shows a complete lack of respect to the female species....'City fanny', what?![]()
Charlie was a friend of our Scarbs. I remember asking him about her when she'd been absent for a while and he said she was fine.I don't think so, she was a cyclist and I saw her once at Newbald in a group when I was out on a ride. I know she had had some health issues, so I hope she is okay.
I still haven't forgotten the kind and supportive words I got from many forum members on here when my Dad passed - 7-8 years ago now. My head was a mess but it helped me immensely at the time being able to talk about it, (and he was actually a poster on here himself for a short period).
But one thing I hate about this forum is the constant talk about fish and chips. It has been many years since I've experienced Hull fish and chips and this constant talk reminds me how good they are compared to the crap we get served west of the Pennines!
There’s a really really good chippy in Alderley Edge - fairly close to you!! It’s on London road, next to the Trafford pub.
I know Sir Cheshire Ben uses it too!

Hahahaha.....How right you are about the fish and chips!!!I still haven't forgotten the kind and supportive words I got from many forum members on here when my Dad passed - 7-8 years ago now. To be fair there are some reasonable chippies around the area - I know a decent one in Frodsham. But there is something about Yorkshire fish & chips, particularly Hull that nowhere else compares to. Maybe it's just nostalgia on my part.
