Morning all. A heavy overnight frost, but the sun is now shining out of a clear blue sky. Totally quiet in the village as it would be on a normal New Year's Day. Many folk would have been out with friends at a restaurant having a slap up meal with numerous courses, followed by dancing to a three man band, know as an orchestra. This year none of that took place, so people stayed at home, the supermarket assistants had a lie in, and even the farm fed the animals in the barn late last night so they didn't have to be up before it was light. Enjoy your day and keep warm.

Mrs Fez recovery continues and mercifully she's been okay with paracetamol, ibuprofen, and rest... no need for the tramadol thus far - nasty stuff, had me licking windows after two days! Nursing duties the order of the day... and roast dinner. Have a grand day.

Good news!
and yes tramadol is nasty... my mum was on it and started to get very old and confused in a week...worked out what it was...and took her off it...... full recovery!

Meanwhile my procedure on Weds was postponed as in the pre-meeting interview the day before the nurse asked if i snored and sometimes stopped breathing at night... yes I said, Mme reports it to me from time to time....... Procedure immediately postponed. Apparently if I have 'sleep apnea' I have to have the procedure in the morning with a consultant ( good news) and have to stay in for four hours after ( bad news) to ensure a good recovery from the sedation. NO matter that I had a very similar procedure in hsopital 10 days previously!

That’s odd, yorkie. I have sleep apnea, but I had my Achilles op and stayed in overnight. They kept me in overnight specifically because of the sleep apnea so they could keep an eye on me. I might have another op in a few months to try and rectify the breathing situation. It’s to do with the length and position of my soft palette apparently, so a 45 min op to adjust muscles in the throat should sort it, I’m told. Mrs Andy nervous about it, but I think that the anaesthetist and surgeon will be very mindful of the dangers as the op is for that condition.

I have severe sleep apnoea, have since I was at least a teen, but had more op's than I care to remember in my life and three since my diagnosis maybe ten years ago... CPAP has been an absolute game changer in my life. Not entirely sure why it's a problem all of a sudden though the anaesthetist will keep a bit more of a closer eye on things.

Morning all. Very cold, doubt that it is above freezing, yet no frost. We put off our last shopping trip to avoid possible larger than normal numbers in the supermarket, but now are running short of milk. Mme. said she would go and fetch some from the small supermarket, which means she might be a while as the locals who use it do like a good gossip. Buying a baguette can be a lengthy business in there. Have a good day whatever you must do.

I think they are just being more and more cautious....

Incidentally ...by chance have been reading this book.... which is very interesting ...and has a lot on sleep apnoea etc

Everywhere was turning white quite quickly as the snowflakes were large and even the road was cold enough for it to settle. Half an hour later it stopped and started to melt. So far there have been no sightings of anyone outside in the cold. Certainly a day day to stay in and keep warm. Have a good one whatever the weather.

The pandemic really does seem to have turned Europe upside down - up here we blues skies, sunshine and a balmy 8C. Have just been out in the garden wearing shorts & t-shirt - not for too long mind you...

Morning all. It started out bright with a little frost, but no wind, so it felt ok outside. It has now clouded over and feels cold. My car is overheating and there is a shortage of coolant in the radiator. Is there a leak somewhere from the mass of tubes, or didn't the garage refill the system enough when they had the engine out. So far I cannot find a leak, but there is so little space under the bonnet that I am not sure. Further examination required. Have a good day whatever you have to do.

Morning all. Cold and grey with the forecast of snow showers during the day. The poor souls in Paris who use the large Marks and Spencer store to buy sandwiches are having to make do with French bread, what horror, and make their own as no deliveries from England can get through. It seems as though they were very popular with the workers in the city, but they will just have to do without. Pop down to your local M&S and you might find some bargains. Have a good day whatever you will do.

Morning all. Grey and cold again, and according to the forecast we are likely to have another week of it before it warms up. There was a little snow yesterday just as we went to do the weekly shop, but it didn't last very long. Supermarket was very busy, which is unusual for a Tuesday, and the reason we now go then rather than the Friday. I can only guess that people were restocking after the holiday. Morning all. Grey and chilly in the depths of the countryside today. Still Spring is coming as seen down the fields where I have a mass of daffodils opening despite the temperature. We have bowls of the little tete a tete ones and hyacinthes indoors in full flower as a reminder that better days are ahead. Have a good day whatever you can do.
