I hope that people realise it's not the end of the world to stay at home to see the new year in with a bottle of single malt. The NHS staff are already at breaking point in some places. Even FHB jnr is staying in this year. We'll see.

I’ve just driven through London. There are lots of young people out with bags / boxes of booze, heading towards bus stops & train stations. It’s nowhere near as busy as normal NYE, but there’s still thousands of people out in London tonight breaking the rules & spreading the virus. It might have been an idea to close shops selling alcohol & Off Licences at 5pm today.
