Following on from the Capello thread I was going to tag this onto the bottom of that one but thought that this was so important a discussion point that it deserved a thread of its own.

What i was mulling over was that when Lambo goes do you think that Culverhouse will go with him? Would he be asked to make the step up to manager perhaps? Interesting one imo.

Sometimes second in commands can make the grade and other times they get shown up for what they are.
Do we think (a) Culverhouse would want the job and (b) if given it he could do it well?

The frustrating thing about management teams is, that they are just that! A team! If you try breaking down the components, and try to merge them with different components from another team, things seldom work out as you would imagine! I suppose it's a bit like trying to build an engine from a mish-mash of parts from different car manufacturers!

I hope our management team are with us for quite a while yet <ok>

'Civvy' Culverhouse is doing a sterling job at the mo, and has done since he teamed up with P.L. so I'd guess if one went they both would.

(Mark Hughes and Bowen spring to mind? - inseperable for years)

Culverhouse is bringing something for sure, is Crook still in Oz?

Bit confused by this post, didn't Chippy leave the club and go back down under ages ago? Culvers is the number 2 and he's an awesome one and I can see him being Lambo's right-hand man whever he goes - and hopefully that won't be anywhere for a long time yet <ok>

Neil Adams is a fantastic addition to the coaching staff as well, but again like Culvers far better suited to coaching than management.

Chris is pretty knowledgeable about the club, so I'm sure he meant Culverhouse.

Agree with Sid that he'll probably stick with PL as no. 2 and hopefully that's with us for many years to come.

Can't remember the last time I've felt like that about our management team.

Thanks Gandy for those kind words - yes of course I meant Culverhouse - Just having one of those days/weeks/months right now! <yikes>

Will edit for the benefit of anybody reading from now on!!! Apologies to everyone for being so stupid but I am not getting much sleep at the moment as the missus is having chronic morning sickness 24/7 - now into her fifth straight week of day in day out of constant sickness so I am not really with it so to speak. Still wanted to post something relevant and let all you guys know I'm around in spirit even if the brain juices are seizing up somewhat!!!

I have to admit that my own feelings are that if PL goes then Culverhouse will follow much like has already been mentioned with Mark Hughes and Mark Bowen. It is almost impossible to tell if he could do a fantastic job if given the chance as he has no experience in the manager's hotseat.

Let's just hope that the two of them stay at Carrow Road for many a year to come

If we are mostly in agreement that they would both depart where do we feel the direction for a new manager should go next...

Up and coming bright young manager or tried and tested experienced campaigner? For example, a Karl Robinson mould versus an Alan Curbishley type?

(This is all completely hypothetical lads - just interesting to see people's opinions)

To be fair i brought up Crook , comparing him to McLaren as no2 when i meant Culverhouse, Chippy being youth or reserve coach i believe before he left for Australia...

Assuming McNally is still at the helm I would imagine he would want to get someone similar to PL but of course that is not going to be easy.
It could come down mainly to attitude as opposed to out-right ability. Someone like Kenny Jackett, Sean O'Driscoll (Not suggesting those 2 as candidates, but people like them).

That would not necessarily mean I would want the same. If it were up to me and again assuming we are still in the top league then i would prefer to see an experienced man come in. If back in the Championship then maybe a younger man in the PL type mold (if there is one out there)

Hey - hang on a bit you lot, after years of trying, and failing, we´ve finally found a manager team and a manager/CEO constellation that´s pure gold, and you´re already talking about what we should do WHEN, not even if, he leaves. <yikes>

I´m looking forward to seeing him celebrate both his 5th and his 10th anniversary at Carrow Road, and can quite easily see him doing a minor Fergie, and being part of the furniture for many years yet. :1980_boogie_down:

Enjoy him while he´s here, and let´s not tempt fate by preparing his departure.

I know who I would want as manager and he'd good friends with mcnally. But I hope we don't come to that for a long time yet. But mixing this thread with the capello one abit, if harry was to take the England job, and we were to have a healthy season and a decent finish do you think lambo would be a candidate for the spurs job?

Sir, I do believe you should compose a very special poem, singing his praises and warning him of the repercussions should he depart our fine city!

You could even use a Glaswegian accent, we are all aware that Denmark and Scotland are closely linked ;)

Sorry guys but -- like rbf -- I really don't see the point of this thread. Some hypothetical questions are worth debating but this doesn't strike me as one of them. For one thing, it seems to me hugely disrespectful towards Paul Lambert to imply that he's just waiting for a better opening to come along before jumping ship. Ambition isn't incompatible with principle; why the cynicism?

Since we signed him, there has been a slight feeling of insecurity with the instant success the man has given us. It would be very much like dating Megan Fox, you know there are richer more attractive rivals wanting to steal her away.....
I am a possessive neurotic mess when i think about losing our spiritual leader, and would never tempt fait by starting a thread like this<yikes>
