Thanks marra, who we are linked with and who we sign will be miles apart, but it's always interesting to see how it pans out. Unfortunately as BSA said, the January window he had here was his best and they tendered not to work for the benefits of the team.
I can see the manager trying to shift some shyte Grigg never worked out and a waste of a shirt Graham the same. A new quick striker with Benji , is the way forward, same as the wings now McGeadys back i would like to see him as more of an assistant striker, just in case he is not as quick or cannot last as long he has the skill and the footwork trickery to be able to turn a man and score, have Diamond an the other quick lads on the wings in fact Aiden can bring them on better with advice and tips, all in all im looking forward to the up coming games and have not been this happy for a while, keep your great thread going , would like to hear your view point on where we need to strengthen, and what to leave alone.
Excellent post marra and agree with it all. We need strength and pace upfront and trickery in midfield /no. 10 role which could suit McGeady as ala Gatesy, just need to find our Marco. Midfield is a conundrum, Leadbitter's doing a great job but can he play 2 or 3 games a week. Also we shouldn't match him with another defensive midfielder e.g. Power? Again we need strength and pace in midfield and similar in defence, just need to get the mix right.
you mention another one there mate Power whilst he may divide opinion in mine he only rates a 3 star yes he chips in with a few goal but those are rarer than hens teeth his accuracy is crap along with his decision making he cant hold a candle to Leadbitter people say Leds legs have gone since he came back i don't see it myself between an attacking midfielder and holding midfielder. One is supposed to be better at attack than defence i find power ****e in both fields so give the young uns a chance they will make mistakes but the learning curve will rise dramatically and it is certainly better than letting these young guys go for peanuts cos Prehistoric wouldn't play them only to see them playing great in league's above ours
Another one with pace being linked, Manchester United starlet Anthony Elanga https://www.footballfancast.com/sun...a-man-utd-lee-johnson-efl-league-one-speakman
If we're keeping Sanderson actually think we only need two, maybe three new additions. CF or two, maybe a CM. We've got likes of Feeney, Benji, Gooch, Onein, Hume, Willis to come back also.
Benji has posted he's back in 6 weeks... https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...kimpioka-reveals-when-he-hopes-return-3077545
I think centre forward, central midfield and goalkeeper would be my priority positions. Pace out wide is good but in Gooch and Diamond we have a bit of that. None at centre forward or centre midfield.
@JHunterChron Lee Johnson says that the takeover means that there is no 'absolute clarity' about what #safc can do in the January window. Says he has compiled lists of targets, though
a decent attacking midfielder with an eye for a good pass as well as an accurate pass rate would be lovely along with a good striker and keeper
Barnet's Steven Bala, 17 year old attacker who benfica were interested in. Competition with Boro for his signature. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/middlesbrough-sunderland-weighing-up-potential-move-for-attacker/
seems a decent lad i am going to have a look if there are any clips of him in action, interesting site that also tried the quiz not bad but the words cover the faces so makes identifying difficult only got 70%

We had Maja and them tossers let him get away, would have went up with him here not enough black players in our team i say, is that contraversial ? Defoe please come back we need you mate, Graham coming on though was a joke nice hair mind lol. And talking about new owners what are they going to do ?
