Obviously he's a work in progress. If there is one element that I would add to his game, without spoiling who he is as a player, it would be a bit of ruthlessness. He has to start ignoring the fact that he may have done something wrong and carry on e.g. he trips a player and spends more time than he should helping him up while the game hasn't stopped, he's then way out of position and the 'injured ' player gets up and runs off. There's a time for making sure a player you fouled is okay and it's the decent thing to do to help them up but most of the time it's playacting. He will learn.I remeber stevie when he came through, he was a natural ball winner is what 1st stood out for me, loved a challenge.
It was only later in that he developed into a box to box and even one of the best AMs when playng behind nando for while.
Jones in contrast has the natural attacking ability already and just like stevie he's always wanting to do things that affect the game.
If he can develop into half the player stevie was ill be pleased. Its important to have locals in the side for me, they "get it" more than the foreign lads of course. Carra is a great example of a decent player who for me because he played for Liverpool gave him an edge that made him better than he actually was.
Kuyt was another, not the best but good enough, and never ever gave anything less than 100% for the club so we loved him.
We love robbo for that too, and cos he's the bollocks, and cos he ********ed the best player in the world like he was a nobody for us![]()
It just tells me that I have an opinion on the subject and have expressed it - I don't lose any sleep over it. It's not an impulsive or ill-considered opinion, it has evolved through many years of watching him, comparing with others and my own personal experience of human nature. You really think people arnt aware of how he will be once he's employed?
At the end of the day his methods win trophies. Hes won them where ever he's gone. Again he spews his **** and people lap it up. Look at it this way, weve spoken more about mourinho then spurs on this thread, so what does that tell you?

The latter also tells me that I'm unlikely to change your mind about it, and I'm ok with that too. The evidence is there for us all to see and we can draw our own conclusions.
I've talked enough about this now, time to move on.
I wasn't really expecting anyone to change their mind, but I've enjoyed hearing your views, its nice to hear the reasons behind someone's thoughts even if agreement can not be met.
Not for one second did I think I'd convert everyone to mourinho supporters, to be honest that was never my intention.
He won the europa and got utd close, better than anyone else.
Spuds top of the table and actual being talked about as serious contenders, they also don't look spursy.
I expect thats why he's employed. Weve been lucky with klopp, weve won and been very entertained in the process. Some fans out there will happily sit through the drudge for the chance to celebrate come the end of the season.
I knew I'd be sat by myself on this one.

How quickly times change![]()
If only I believed in jinxes - I'd commend you on your timely intervention.Even as I was typing that I knew they'd **** up sooner or later. Its come a bit quicker than I expected, but spurs can always be relied upon to be well spursy

Even if people thought he was a decent enough chap, he'd still be disliked on here because of his association with Chelsea...
I think Mourinho is the reason a lot of people dislike Chelsea rather than the other way around.
Yeah, Roman is a twat and started this whole "buy a mid table team and fund them until they win" malarkey, but I really don't hate Chelsea any more than I do City or any other "buy the league" team. They're just "other teams" to me. Other teams with money.
Man Utd and Everton are our rivals. I don't consider Chelsea a rival now Jose isn't there.
As soon as Spurs sack Jose, they will go back to being just another team too.
I dislike Chelsea because that fans are ****s that boo respectful silences
They certainly have a % of their fans who are ****s, as do all clubs... They've certainly made the news slot over the years.
As I recall it was only a small percentage of Chelsea fans booing. Don't think it's fair to blame Chelsea for that any more than it is to blame Liverpool for the bastard pushing Italians in fountains from our lot.

John Terry's thuggish behaviour both on and off the field epitomised Chelsea for me.
Though I'd never go so far as to condemn all of their fans on the basis of a proportion of them, no matter how substantial.
