Luckily my mum lives close so still going there on Christmas Day as planned .
Tbh makes little difference to me as have been in pretty much self isolation since March the only difference being walking the dog and shopping for food when couldn't get online deliveries . The only person bar me & Mrs Solid who has been in our house , excluding conservatory , in those 9 months is the wifes physio .
I moan but luckily I’ve not been overly affected. Can work from home just fine all these months. My health’s good it’s just a ball ache not being able to go see fam at Xmas as we’d planned it all out so will now have to go get food in for just us two.
but it could be worse, me and fam have our health so shouldn’t moan too much.
i'm glad to see the true spirit of Christmas still means something in your household .I don't see my family at Christmas. Usually spend it with the mrs' family so naturally, I'm over thre moon that we can't go round![]()

we had planned to her her fam for xmas day then mine for boxing. So that’s all off the table. Bit diff for you with kids and stuff as all about them. So not going to see my. Niece and neephew, give them their presents or anything so all a bit ****
Realise it'll be **** for most. Regardless of what Boris said today, we weren't going anywhere this year tbf.
I'm not usually a big fan of Christmas because it's been years since I spent it with my family. But this is the first time in years I'm actually looking forward to it; just us and the kids. Bought a few board games etc, should be fun.
Will you be playing Cards Against Humanity with them?
It's a bit crap.Had to look up what that was. Sounds delightful...

I'm no prude, it's just that I find it crude and unfunny. It's like it was compiled by a load of 15 year-old schoolboys.

Few drinks and few mates... good game that. Good laugh

I've just had disturbing news. It is with a sad heart I have to announce that I am a boring white dude.
23andme updated my results and I am no longer 4% Asian. It also no longer says I am British (despite half my relatives being British). I've dropped to zero percent British apparently.
I'm not sure how to handle being just a regular boring white guy now. Now I am completely white do I have to start supporting Trump? Can I stop eating with chopsticks?
The British/Asian part of me is now "German/French" making up a whopping 70% of me. So, I guess I have to start kissing everyone on the cheek when I say hello now, damnit!
In other news DNA kits are crap, don't waste your time on them.![]()
yeah but thats the colonial past. bit of French? probably from some soldier taking advantage?
bit of German? probably an ss type doing the same
of course I'd love to see rhc's dna results. pure anglo saxon. or French one other the other.
Well German makes sense, my maternal grandmother was German. My mother's side of the family are from all over Europe and move each generation... Even Asian (West Asian) made sense because my mother's side can also be traced to Transylvanian nobility and the Turks controlled there as well as parts of West Asia for a time... And nobles bang other nobles from same empire.
Not sure how I'm zero British now though. I know my paternal Grandmother was English. I suspect my paternal grandfather might not have been my real grandfather. (I know this because of simple genetics of hair colour)... So my grandfather might not have been English.
But grandmother was, so, I think lack of any British ancestry is a simple mistake in their testing.
