I agree that people are generally biased and think they're right about things, you and I included mate.

Could I just ask about your comment that I shouldn't knock Johnson but support him.

In all honesty would you have said that if Corbyn was now PM doing the same things.
no mate i would keep quite as the majority voted so i respect it, same applies when Blair won didn't want him so kept quite, everyone has a moan about the government of the the day some justified some not no one bothers to ask what are you not happy a bout with the gov, there are loads im not happy about, Murders being let out after only serving a fraction of their time, same as criminal foreigners not being sent back SNP being allowed a vote in our parliament when we can vote i theirs there is quite a list

I do not need to try and catch people out. They do that themselves <laugh>
dip **** i can only reply to one at a time, when i have finished answering genuine posters questions ill be back to spank you till then be quite and let the men talk

If this virus had hit us first I could sympathise more, but we could see Italy, Spain, etc, being devastated. Yet we allowed unrestricted international travel and the PM went out and about without a mask, shaking hands with one person then another ...

... an absolute masterclass in how to transmit the virus.

Even after contracting the virus he 'came out fighting' and pointlessly visited factories, etc, while at the same time warning people about unnecessary travel.

Even his overly theatrical elbow-bump is ridiculous. How can two people do that while observing the 2 metre distance. Why even do it, once again totally unnecessary except as a photo opportunity.

Yes he's a character but one who's totally unsuitable for such a serious situation.

So how would you have proposed he handle the 250,000 (yes that’s 250,000) a day alone, that were returning from ski resorts. That’s U.K. citizens!!! Or do you not think they had a right to return.

Of course that does not include the even greater number that were returning from sunnier climbs - or were they not allowed to return either?

Oh and neither figure includes the many thousands of other international traveller who passed through the world hub that is the U.K..

And people still compare us with New Zealand FFS!!!

Bart

At the same time people were returning from the ski resorts more were being allowed to go out.

Or are you seriously claiming a million stranded skiers were coming home every 4 days?

You have to prove it. That's how it works on this board I'm afraid.

Well you're one of the most political posters here, and never miss a chance to tug your forelock in the direction of the Old Etonians.

When Starmer was elected leader of the Labour Party I thought you were going for the world record of the number of threads you could post on about him "helping Jimmy Saville to evade justice" (if Starmer had really done so he would be serving an extremely long prison sentence).

Which is fine, I have absolutely no problem with people posting strong political views. I don't think you should be censored, insulted or accused of throwing your toys out of the pram. Keep it coming. IIRC it was you who set up the excellent General Election thread.

Stop it, Roger. You are only supposed to point out the negatives in the Conservative party on this forum. If you don't you show political bias and you'll have most of the board throwing their toys out of the pram.

It just makes me laugh when people of any political opinion who regularly come out with very strong political views are then surprised when others, er, come out with very strong political views.

The title of the thread is "Christmas, Boris and hypocrisy" That would lead me to suspect the thread was about BORIS JOHNSON and him being hypocritical at Christmas. Nowhere did it mention the Labour party, JeremyCorbyn, Tony (and Cherie) Blair, or Kier Starmer. I would then presume that it was not about any of those people. Therefore I discussed BORIS JOHNSON. If somebody started a thread about Newcastle United I would not then start talking about Hamilton Academicals as they have absolutely nothing to do with Newcastle United. Just as the Labour party itself or any of it's members/MP's have absolutely nothing to do with BORIS JOHNSON or his handling of the pandemic, or whether he was being hypocritical at Christmas. I thought that was self evident but obviously not for some people.

Just to play Devils Advocate your assumption COULD be rather flawed.
A reader COULD claim that the Title covered THREE Headings.

CHRISTMAS

BORIS

HYPOCRACY

The last would cover most politicians living or dead, (in MY view). I

A passing thought.

Perhaps if somebody told Boris that the Virus was Female, that would encourage him to get on top of it.<whistle>

But would you be telling people to support him as you're doing with me and Johnson ...

... if you are then fair play to you.

You can do as you like mate, we can all comment on what people post ...

... that's the basis of a chat forum.

None of us think we're biased or wrong do we.

I often think some people have a bit of a Boris man-crush but that's just my opinion.

Fookinell that made I larf <laugh>

On the plus side, happy winter solstice for tomorrow.
Days getting longer, yippee

I support Conservatives and the majority support Labour. I defend the Conservatives and slag Labour. Labour supporters defend their party and slag the Conservatives. Both sides completely avoid the good things that the opposite party do.

The bottom line is people target me (on political threads) because I'm a Tory and that just isn't liked in the NE.I like to point out all the flaws in the party that they support and I like to counter their arguments against BJ and it doesn't go down well. I see that as good old tribalism.

If people don't like me as a poster because of my political views that is their problem, not mine.

Starmers in opposition do you here me going on about him no, Dh4 is in opposition to Boris i hear him incessantly going on, if you prove him wrong he keeps changing the subject which takes the thread so far off track that it totally spoils it,

No mate, I was asking if you'd be telling people to support Corbyn if he was now PM ...

... as you were doing with me and Johnson.

Sorry mate, that's absolute nonsense.

It's not even logistically possible.

A debate at the time said that people arriving from airports which serve skiing holiday regions is estimated to be around 250,000 per day in the U.K. during the peak season.

And a similar number arriving from other holiday destinations.

if you do the sums, it is logistically possible. IE how many flights land in the U.K. each day during the winter? FECKIN LOADS.

Answering the question ‘How many Brits go skiing each year, findings show that each winter 1.5 million UK residents go on at least one ski holiday.

According to your figures that's only 6 days whereas they're talking about the entire season.

As I said, it's absolute nonsense.
