Another rancid example of the Racism Industry spoiling our national game.

  • The term Cavani used is a term of affection in his South American culture
  • The recipient has confirmed that he was not offended - quite the opposite
  • Cavani has apologised to those who mysteriously were.
However, this is clearly “rayyyyyzisssst” in the eyes of the Woke Left, who are now demanding a lengthy ban for something that no sane person of any colour could possibly it be offended by.

Sadly, Charlton has quite a few supporters in this category, although I’m glad to say none on here. What they are doing actually detracts from the real fight against racism.

It's a common term in South America, and is used affectionately.

Without reading back my recollection may be wrong, but I have it in mind that Cavano was referring to a friend.

This shouldn't even be a story. Cavani has done nothing wrong, has apologised for any offense accidentally caused, and that should be the end of it. If he gets the 3-match ban the FA threaten him with he is wrongly tainted as a racist. It's the FA who will be bringing the game into disrepute if the charge is successful.

Chalk up another victory for the Offence Industry - the only branch of the UK economy showing any growth right now.

If Boris or Sunak could only figure out how to apply a Woke Tax, they'd fill that £80bn hole in the economy almost overnight.

Gordon Taylor is the highest paid Union official in Britain, and the PFA are supposed to represent the interests of its members. They should be defending Cavani against this slur on his character.

As a general point, it’s good that even some Labour voters see this sort of thing for what it is - ludicrous political McCarthyism - but does it occur to them that it’s their tribe that it’s driving this agenda?

What sanction would the Woke BLM Marxist Left like imposed on Cavani for his transgression ?

How about tarring & feathering him in the middle of Islington High St ?

Or worse still - forcing Cavani to buy AND read the Guardian every day.

We are now on a slippery slope of left wing bigotry.

Their tribe? I am not a member of a Labour tribe, I have a mind of my own with a large IQ and I don't follow anybody blindly. Do Tories not have a tribe then?
 
I heard on the radio that Cambridge United had identified every one of a small number of fans who booed when their team took the knee a few weeks ago. Each fan was asked to explain their motive for booing, then was punished with one of a number of sanctions ranging from 're-education' to a ban.

As far as I'm aware no explanations given were thought worthy of the fan in question not being punished at all.

Been watching Soccer Saturday on SSN (I know I said I would cancel my subscription, but I bottled out <doh>).

Several anti-racist messages on display, but now using the long-standing 'Kick it Out' slogan and logo.
'Black Lives Matter' has not appeared.
