I really couldn't care what the government says or don't say. I've got my big boy pants on now, so am capable of making my own decisions. Afterall, at this merry time of year we bring families closer for a celebration about something that's been lost in time. I wasn't implying it was a free-for all, but you've explained that better than I did tbf.

I agree with most of that, except I think had they maintained existing restrictions and simply said enjoy Christmas with your household only, that would've been clear enough and not prone to misinterpretation. That's not to say that those who want to ignore that decision will have done so but they would've been less than what we're likely to encounter with the current directive.

I agree as well, I don't think Christmas needed to be singled out, although they were being driven into a statement on it by the media, which they pretty much have been throughout.

The very same media will now poke them with a stick until they decide to go back on the idea and put some restrictions back in.




To all the people who are glibbly saying 'it's only meeting granny for Christmas' might need to look a bit deeper into it and realise that the meeting of granny might be the only thing keeping granny going, as granny has been toeing every line put in front of her of the last nine months and has literally **** all else to look forward to.

Covid is taking xmas off

 

Yeh easily one of the best. Came into tv quite late but played two of the best characters - Rigsby and Reggie Perrin.

Rigsby is one of my all time favourites. The on-screen chemistry between the 4 of them was brilliant.
