I dunno, I think Steward drills everything into Fury to use his size to his advantage. AJ won’t know what the game plan is until he gets in the ring and I’ve always said this - AJ is a round down before he steps in the ring with Fury, who will **** with AJ’s head so bad in the build-up.
I've never been knocked out tbh mate.. Even sucker punched when I was pissed.. Obviously I have no idea of your boxing ability, but I can box a bit, got some judo experience and that's usually enough when dealing with the everyday hooligan.... 'm not saying Joshua didn't get up, but he's shown that when it got really tough he lacked something... Thats dimetikng you either have or you don't. Perhaps my words weren't accurate enough, but I concede he dud keep getting back up, so perhaps I'm being overally harsh
Fury has only had one fight with Steward as his trainer so we can't really see what changes he has made yet - was a lot more aggressive vs Wilder which I think he won't be against the superior boxer in Joshua. Also it might be Fury who has his head messed with given his last reaction to a jibe from Joshua but we shall see if the fight actually happens.
People watched the wilder fight and assume he can do the same to Joshua, but there's a big difference in that Joshua's bigger than wilder by a few stone himself and he can actually box... I'd still pick fury, but it's different fight and one shot is all it takes at any weight class and non more than heavyweight... Literally anything can happen they're both the best of the best
The big question at the end of the first Fury vs Wilder fight was could Fury have gotten up from a fresh Wilder punch - not one that has gone 12 rounds for the first time in his career. Have to give credit to Fury for not finding the answer to that in the second fight.
And this is the reason why I really want the fight to happen and soon while both are still in their prime and at the top of the game - to find out what will happen.
Wilders not put the equation yet either... He could fight anyone and win even though his boxing absolutely stinks... Joshua could beat fury then wilder could beat Joshua... You just don't know how the landscape could change...
He’s an elite athlete who was taught to box and made a career out of it, as a top drawer amateur who then turned pro. The difference between him and Fury, is that the latter was brought up as a ‘fighting man’ by a bare knuckle lunatic. Fury currently considers himself unbeatable, and that mentally is what drives him, it’d be interesting to see what Fury would be like once he’d been beaten. Personally I think he’d likely lose his edge, like Eubank all those years ago.
Wilder was only worth a damn when he had a title - without it he is just someone with no boxing ability and one decent punch. He spent his entire career ducking actual boxers like Klitchkho and Joshua and only fought Fury because he was so poor in his previous fight against a nobody. His only hope now is running his mouth to keep himself in the headlines and hope that he pisses off one of the champions enough to want to shut him up.
Wilder should ditch his entire team and hire a top level coach. He’s the best one shot puncher I’ve ever seen, but he’s never bothered himself to learn the art, as he literally didn’t have to, that only gets you so far though, as he started to find out when he got in with proper heavyweight boxers. The Ortiz fight sticks in my head, Ortiz is a quality technician and completely bossed the fight and won every round on my card, until he got caught with one absolute monster shot in the 7th, fight over. That’s what he can do, as he very nearly also did to Fury in the first fight. He could still get back in the mix, but it’d need some humility and a lot of hard work.
I hate him, but he's exciting for the division and he's been part of its revival... He'll get another shot I'm sure
I agree but I think it is too late for him - at 35 he is an old dog and doubt he can learn new tricks even if he wanted to.
Eubank lost his edge because of Watson. He didn't want to risk that happening again and couldn't put people away.
Nah, he went a further 14 fights unbeaten after that, it was Collins who ruined him, as he got inside his head.
