This is an interesting read, which states that successive Conservative governments have reduced the numbers of non-Tory voting electors over the years, first by the Poll Tax, then by the Individual Electoral Registration Act 2013 which removed the Annual Household Review, and more recently by the latest plan to require production of photographic ID at the voting station.

Obviously being well coached by the GOP, Putin, the Saudis, Erdogan and Orban and others of a similar ilk.

That highlights the dismantling of a really democratic voting process, but we shouldn’t be surprised. It’s the Tory way.
Reference The 2013 Individual Electoral Registration Act, they did something similar, if I am correct, to reduce trade union membership, when they stopped union fees from being collected through wage systems.
Once people had to start setting up Direct Debits, membership numbers dropped.

And the Tories have the cheek to bombard the electorate asking for contributions from US in order to fight against Labour and their backers, the Trade Unión barons. The author of that plea came from the PMs office. He must have forgotten the rich barons like Tim Martin, Dyson, et al.

Absolutely, as that article points out, around 1.5 million adult people in the UK don’t even have a bank account, which effectively bars them from union membership.

Tesco has said that they are stock piling long life products, and I guess most other supermarkets are doing similar, so border issues might not be as severe in January as first feared, but if that is the case, it will be down to businesses having been proactive.
