Leeds Utd v West Ham Utd
Friday 11th December 20:00| Elland Road

Leeds face yet another defensive crisis, as they welcome Wet Ham to Elland Road. 24 hours after being told that Robin Koch was to undergo surgery , and sidelined until the Spring, fellow central defender, and Summer signing Diego Llavente has been out of action since 11 October during International Duty with Spain, bur was thrown in at the deep end due to Koch's injury after just 10 mins. The 27yo will be out for a further 3 weeks after picking up a new muscle injury.

Bielsa cunningly revealed during his day early press conference that due to the injury situation, Luke Ayling will partner Liam Cooper at centre back, with Stuart Dallas at right-back and Gjanni Alioski at left-back (but don't tell West Ham)!!!!

Record signing Rodrigo (who should be pretty cheesed off by now for being used as a bit player for the first quarter of the season) gets his second start of the season playing in the number 10 roll! for comes back into the starting XI to take the number 10 role!

Bielsa took the trouble to read out his starting line up:-

"Rodrigo Moreno is going to come in for Llorente and the 11 will be Meslier, Dallas, Ayling, Cooper, Alioski, Phillips, Klich, Moreno, Raphinha, Harrison, Bamford," he said.

Why give your opposition any kind of advantage by reading out your starting XI?

Here's Bielsa, with his presser...

So presumably ayling to cb, Dallas to rb

makes for a very attacking line up.. not that we ever have a defensive one

We played well the last time we had to use this defensive line-up but it still leaves me feeling anxious.

It's not quite "must win" time yet but 3 points would certainly take the pressure off heading towards Christmas

Will Pablo be on the bench? Personally I don't care but I know many do.

A lot of people saying about Rodrigo being a bit part player so far and being annoyed about it. The thing is you can’t just come in and start for a Bielsa team as it’s a well drilled and oiled machine. He would’ve known that too. Was never going to start vs Liverpool, then he played 45 vs Fulham and didn’t look like he knew the system well enough. Then he started to look like he was making his way into the team with good performances against Man City and Villa and soon after caught covid. He was then out for a while and would’ve needed to get his fitness back. When he was back we played very well against Arsenal and beat a good Everton side so he was never going to start against Chelsea. Now he gets his chance again this weekend.

Absolutely.

Got a feeling that it's his place to lose now though.
