Mate, I wouldn't give a dogs fart if someone called me the white guy. Who gives a ****.

Nor would I mate.

Imagine it's very different for a black man to hear 'negru' though. Even if it wasn't meant with any malicious intent I can certainly see why he's taken offence to it.

As for the walk off, there’s protocols in the game for this. The crowd make racist chants or comments there’s a warning given over the PA, if it continues then iirc there’s a final warning given, then the players can walk off.

In this scenario, a 4th official saying ‘that black guy’ is that a walk off trigger? Not for me, seems like a massive over reaction imo. We’ll see what the full story is.

<laugh> was playing devil's advocate to a degree ... but with some semi-seriousness behind it ... one of the problems with racial profiling is that the innocent black guy pulled over by the popo fitted the description of a "black guy" ...
Wouldn't that be the same if a description was given as a white guy? A white guy would get pulled in rather than a black guy.

Yeah, if 'Alu Negru' simply translates as 'the black guy' then it seems like its just something that's been lost in translation. As you say, there are protocols for dealing with actual racial discrimination.

It wouldn't bother me to be called a honkey either tbh.

It seems to be a language miscommunication more than anything but I can understand the anger at what he heard and the word used.

United just lulling them into a false sense of security before sending on double penalty and OG for the last 15
