That was our first win against them wasn't it, we then routinely beat them in all our other home PL games, must have been confusing for local reds hunting reflective glory.
The last 3 times we’ve played them at home we’ve won, I think 4 if you include the pre season game, 13/14 I think?
My god I remember that well and what an array of talent we had on show that day .. makes one weep when I look at where we are today
I get you, but football is a sport and if you're not trying to win every game, then what's the point? If you win every game you'll be promoted. It's the very nature of all sports.
Loved being up there, eliminated that "biggest City in Europe never to play top flight" nonsense... But it was the emperor's new clothes for me..... Watching kids in City shirts waiting for "their hero's" to get off the coach but having to come to terms with their hysteria being aimed at opposition players, not just ours.... Hate the "plucky Hal" nonsense.... The half scarf culture, the "I'm a consumer stop shouting, stop standing please"... Thanks for listening...
Nothing like league games vs Sheffield United, Derby, Middlesbrough, Bristol, Cardiff.... Beating Liverpool was great... But we were treat like imposters...
Yeah, but wouldn't it be great playing those games in the PL?! Given that Leeds were always going to get there sooner or later, my hope was always that we would also still be there. Having us, Leeds, Boro, Sheff ?, Huddz in PL at once would have been great. Maybe one day still. It's the hope .....
Don't disagree, but would gladly settle for some good old Yorkshire Derbies in The Championship, starting from next season!
This was the game that stopped Liverpool Winning the title too, well it contributed to it anyway. Even though it’s not recognised by anyone in the media, or anywhere really, as it’s all the Gerrard slip that stopped them from winning it.
