I make no pretence of understanding how this virus works, but logic suggests that it is the restrictions that reduce the infection rate and by lifting them you risk increasing it again.The Liverpool infection rate, R rate or whatever it's called is dropping every day. We're now at 158 per100,000 which is below the national average of 235. Hopefully we won't be back in tier 3 when the lockdown is lifted and fans will be allowed back.
This seems likely to reoccur until either the infection runs its course, or until our measures eradicate it.
With apparently effective vaccines on the horizon, it seems reasonable to me to be patient, wait until we have the situation under control, and then the sooner we can get back to normality - or near it at least.
