Tbf you just weren’t on your game today
Probs a bit of the int break, a bit of the injuries (ignore pj total knob jockey - Leicester have been looking great up until today on the whole and never a long ball side ffs - think we still had more injured but I don’t think the ones that have just come back for you guys looked right) - and Brendan just got his tactics wrong - agree with most you should have gone for us
But it not like you are miles off the top and CL even title well on your radar this season imho
I think if Gomez is genuinely first choice you’d say injury wise 5 (TAA, Gomez, VVD, Thiago and Salah) vs 4 (Ricardo, Casagne, Ndidi and Soyuncu). Your make shift back line with Matip, Milner and Fabinho is better than ours with Fuchs and Albrighton and two kids!
We have too many shockers like this in our locker so would completely disagree with the title being anywhere near our radar, tbf I have a feeling Spurs for that. Top 4 whilst logically more likely, still unlikely for me. Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea all look too good and I can’t see Man City staying where they are so I think that will be the top 4. Top 6 possible if Arsenal or Man Utd stay awful but Southampton, Everton etc all threats. If Southampton can come back well from the break tonight they could be really serious as well.
I’d like to see how far we could go in the EL if we put our minds to it.

You forgot Henderson mate, so I would say they had 6 of there first team out.

I did wonder after I wrote that to be fair. I’m not sure what their chosen midfield 3 would be, Thiago, Henderson and and Fabinho?
Its just a different level of players they can bring in though, had we lost to that side without major issues ourselves I’d be disappointed but it is what it is. It’s more the manor of the defeat that did for me and why I gave up on the game, we were beaten mentally before kick off and that’s not acceptable...

No...I just don't see how your club could take such a massive loss.
Arsenal asked players to take a pay cut, made non playing staff redundant to save money and that suggests losing £60m or so ain't an option for your owners

I'm sorry RCL, but I don't think any of this is relevant.

The pay cut was temporary, making the non-playing staff redundant had no bearing on us giving Auba and Willian bumper contracts with lucrative clauses/bonuses, and it was our owner who restructured our finances for us to sign Partey, as a sign of good faith in Arteta.

If Arteta thinks Pepe is too much of a liability to keep - and bear in mind Pepe was never Arteta's signing in the first place - then yes, I do think we can cope with the loss.

We're going to be freeing up around £600k a week in wages in Summer of 2021 as well. Most of Ozil, Sokratis, Mustafi, Kolasinac, (possibly) Luiz, Guendouzi & Torreira will be off the wage bill due to their contracts expiring or the high likelihood of them being sold.

Fair enough.
Was hoping you might be strapped for cash so stuck with him <laugh>

Btw... he's out of the NLD cos of the 3 match ban...

We've appealed <whistle>

You could have signed Son 3x over and had £6m left in change for the fee we paid for Pepe.<laugh>.

He’s abysmal.

It’s no wonder we sacked Raul Sanllehi who was responsible for that transfer. Yet another expensive dud that has failed to deliver.

Pepe has been a disaster so far. He's shown nothing of the player he was at Lille. Kid has definitely got the talent, but he just looks a bit disinterested. I'm hoping this incident might be the rocket up his backside that he needs, if not then we should definitely be looking to move him on in the summer.

Stupid of him yesterday, but that said. Alioski went down like a ****ing sack of ****, the playacting little **** and definitely played to get him sent off.

Agree on Spurs
I think this next block of games will tell us a bit more about them
It’s going to be about consistency and how teams recover from defeats
If City carry on how they are it could well be them who miss out - I don’t believe it’s likely but it’s possible
There are a number of teams up there.
Should be a great season :)

Ziyech was begging to join you for €30m, but you spent over double that on Pepe, instead! <laugh>
You could've picked up van de Beek with the change.
