As a key worker who has not had one day off during this pandemic, can I say that cuts both ways, especially as several of my friends, family and neighbours in the private sector enjoyed a lovely summer being furloughed, 'working from home', 'stood down' and developing the back garden tans in the spa bath.

I appreciate that many of them are now facing an uncertain future when the furlough scheme ends, but forgive me for being a tad pissed off when those of us who worked through the crisis, and continue to do so, are asked to pay for those who didn't and then be told how lucky we are to have a job. Especially after Boris said he's 'proud' at how @£18bn has been wasted on crony contracts for PPE that, in a lot of cases, didn't even get used.

I am private sector, have had no pay rise in three years and still feeling the impact of 2008 crash.

as a key worker (lot of MOD work) who has had to also self isolate and take a ****ing 10% pay cut since April while still working a 50hour week I can’t see how public sector workers should be having a pay rise because they have been hard at it like the rest of us.

People will disagree, but that’s the beauty of this place.

No need mate. I'll get by, I always do. Just putting across a public servants point of view.

Oh and the reason the government see us as soft targets is that our unions are ****e.
At one point in my career the unions had agreed a pay deal with the government that would see me reach my maximum pay for my grade in 666, yes, six hundred and sixty six years. ****s.

That’s not that long really, just get your head down bro and it’ll come in no time.

Just been reading back a few pages, really sorry to hear about your Mum, Ern, and your Dad, Saf. It’s been a rough time on the forum of late, some really horrible news that’s just seemingly going hand in hand with this **** awful year.

I know I’m not as frequent a poster these days on the Prem board but honestly my DMs are always open for anyone wanting a chat - about absolutely anything.

As for HIAG, not gonna comment on some of recent the stuff he’s said because I think everyone has covered it well enough, condolences to him though about his Mum, yet again another awful piece of news this year. Personally I’m quite glad he’s gone though, for his own good, feels like the forum has moved on from him and somewhat similarly to Matth in a way, it wasn’t a good place for him to be involved with. Genuinely wish him all the best.

Yeah wanna reflect that too about my PM being open to anybody who ever feels they need to talk.

I lost my Dad last year and this place helped, in particular chatting to @Chief who was going through the same thing.

It can be useful to chat with somebody who is outside of your immediate situation, sometimes family and friends are just as deeply involved as you are.

99% of the lads (and lasses) on here are decent folk and are more than willing to be an ear to bend when somebody needs the space and time to talk.

<ok>

Absolutely, found it very cathartic both ways.

Look, each to their own, but broadcasting these issues on a public forum isn't necessarily the right way to go? I didn't, but that's just my choice. There's always going to be someone (sadly) who will react or say the wrong thing, causing a **** storm.

I note on a closed thread that HIAG's version is being put into doubt because, well it's HIAG. Not sure why just because he never discusses his parents on a football forum should mean that he's lying and they don't exist?

Anyway, hope everyone with issues handles them and deals with them as best they can. It's not a great experience and how each individual goes thought that can't be picked at either way.

<peacedove> Out.

They must exist or HIAG would not be here. Equally provision for visiting dying relatives exists in many hospitals and hospices even under Covid.

he is a compulsive bullshitter so his statement that he could not see his mum may not be factual.

It does suit his plandemic agenda/narrative however

It does exist but won't always be possible dependant on a variety of circumstances.

Really not sure what your end game is here. He's gone now. Don't get why you can't just leave it.

Maybe I'm naive or an idiot, maybe both, but for all of HiaG's faults, I have no reason to disbelieve what he said last night. The guy sent me a detailed PM and I genuinly feel for him, as I do for everyone. In my world, I'd rather the guy be taking the piss out of me, than I dare suggesting to the contrary about what he said.

I know
Its bad **** - im respecting a post by Tobes
Lets never speak of this again<laugh>
I am now of out to see if pigs are flying south over my house

Edit
Actually thats harsh
I have agreed with alot that he has posted in the past its just his hatred of LFC thats the issue <laugh>
Poor lad can't help himself. He means well really <laugh>
