no mate as my dad pushed me i wanted to be a commercial artist him being an ex para he wanted to make a man of me so we agreed not the paras but RE as went i and sat the test my score was too high for Paras,So i had to start in the Junior leaders Regiment RE based at Dover was a good swimmer so in no time i was playing water polo then picked for the army swimming team. from there they sent me to Aldershot for a PT instructors still they came for me to play polo for the Army team, then i Got sent to Aldershot on a P company paras course, then Carder straight after,I was the sent all over playing water polo or swimming tournaments did Bovinton for 1 day for a match also did Tamworth Ripon Avon Lido in Swansea Rosyth for the quadrangle tournament,Edinburgh, then i was sent to Europe playing polo from Folkstone to Ostend toured Germany staying at every North Rhine barracks playing tournaments, Maidstone Ireland Falklands Kenya Belize it was while i was at Aldershot i met my bast mate to be he was in 9 para Tony Goodall a back stroker we swam at all the tournaments cracking lad
Makem, just a serious question. As a member (ex?) of an elite force I would like to hear your opinion. Now I'm not weighing in on one side or another on this, the rights and wrongs are not what bothers me, but, here in Australia we currently have a case of some of our SAS personnel being investigated for alledged (see what I did there?) shooting of prisoners in Afghanistan. We have seen, and heard, via their body cameras just what happened. Now, my question is, why the hell do you think that anyone would deliberately shoot someone when they must know that they are wearing body a camera and a recording device? I have only the highest regard for our troops who, I believe, do a good job, as indeed I had for British troops when I lived there. But what kind of mentality causes someone to simply lose it like this? It's pretty serious charge and, understandabley, causing big waves in our defence department. PS Have to agree with you on the Corbyn thing. Absolute twat. How the hell did the labour Party ever think they could win with him?

Unless you've been in a war situation, seen your mates and comrades blown up, shot or worse, been killed, I doubt anyone on here can really understand what is going on in soldiers heads. Some I presume react differently. I've never ever been in that situation Mackem, I'm only going on what I've been told by a few lads that have been through it. Maybe you could explain to us, seeing that you've had that horrible experience. Apologies if I'm out of order for asking.
sorry mate im blasting a leftie now going on about Boris whilst i respect your views , i don't agree with them, i would suggest that the majority of the Country feel the same way as i do, considering the stark choice we had between commie Corbyn or Boris, most chose Boris in fact the worst Labour defeat in 80 years,and swaths of former loyal labour heartland turned against them, who would give the keys of the door to that commie sympathizer.
