Nailed on Parky only uses 2 in the next game - Wyke for Graham and Maguire for O’Brien

5 subs should massively advantageous for us in this division. It’s a sorry state of affairs that it feels like it will be more of a hindrance now as better managers are able to do more to change games against us.

In this division definitely. In the EPL then it suits the bigger clubs which I suspect is what it’s all about.

  12. I'll be honest with you mate...and I know this isn't likely a popularly held view...but,as long as the control and the destiny of this club are handed over to the right people who can end our current misery and the last 10 years of terminal decline,by engineering getting us back to where I think we belong,I couldn't give a flying **** about how much Donald gets out of it.

Not necessarily. It really depends on what they have done.

When I was the main IT lead at a company we wanted to make changes and move our email to a new supplier - we had to make changes which took upwards of 48 hours to kick in. Main result was no email or web pages could be changed in that period as our email addresses were similar to the website address. We did it over a weekend but obviously thats SAFCs busiest time.

It sounds to me like they could be moving the webpages across to a new provider - hence the 48 hours - DNS can take that long to update on the internet but in reality it doesnt always.

I agree, once the details are announced we can all move on and consign these chancers and short to history... however, if Donald hangs around looking for another payday, in my opinion this will lead to a bad taste and continued distain towards the chancers.

Nope, even if he leveraged parachute payments to get it. He passed us on to better owners, now it’s time to forget about him.

While £17m is always nice to have, he really wanted to be seen as a Football Man and he’s ruined that for all time.

Every time I hear SD being called a chancer, I can't help but think of a scene in The Jolly Boys Outing special of Only Fools and Horses.
At the beginning when they are playing Trivial Pursuit, Dell refers to Cassandra's new boss Steven as a yuppie...
Dell. ....."You know, people like us"
Steven. "What do you mean, people like us?
    Dell. Well, you know, yuppies
Steven. I am not a yuppie.
Dell. Oh yes you are Steven....yes you are.
    ..............
    Stewart....i am not a chancer.
Everyone else. Oh, yes you are Stewart, yes, you are.

  17. Yes,but that's in the hands of the new owners and the terms of the deal. I've no idea, but we could speculate that the price to acquire a controlling stake at this moment in time is comparatively low and an agreement is in place to acquire the remaining Donald shares, at an agreed higher price, once some success is achieved. This may be something like half his holding when we are in the Championship at a price, and the remainder once we are in the PL,at another price. As it isn't at all likely that Donald will retain any kind of executive role in the club from here on......indeed he's already relinquished that.....and is highly unlikely to visibly attend any matches,I don't see why that would bother anyone. If we get the success we deserve and get back to the PL with a team capable of competing in it,the fact that Donald may be paid off and disappear into the sunset isn't likely to be on anyone's radar. If my speculation above is anywhere near, the risk is still his that the new owners can generate the success required to trigger his pay-out.....something he will have no input into. If they fail,he gets nowt and will have to enter the whole process again from a much weaker position.

I've absolutely no idea about these figures mate, only the little I've been told.

This £20 million debt/loan/whatever seems to be used by different people in different ways by different people.

Other figures are bandied around and instantly contradicted.

If anyone should be annoyed it's Short imo.

  20. Sorry, just thinking about this on the hoof.....it's probable that the deal to acquire Donald's remaining shares is time limited. In other words, the new owners will have a set time to complete the purchase of his shares,if they can't generate the success which introduces the trigger, they will have agreed to buy at another price anyway.
    Maybe!!
Can possibly see why this deal took a while to come together mind!:emoticon-0102-bigsm
