It shouldnt be against the law to chant that line, nobody should be telling people what they should and shouldnt sing/chant. It's a choice thing, I chose to change what I was singing because I thought it sounded better but I never had a problem with anyone singing "up to our knees in fenian blood". Especially since its a valid viewpoint to have seeing as fenians are Britain hating terrorists.

The roar it generated on european nights was amazing, drowning out the Champions League tune in games against PSV, Bayern, Valencia, and Sturm Graz (remember that!!)

Its criminal that its been taken away from us. Martin Bain, Graham Spiers, The Gobbler, Joke McConnell and UEFA can go and take a big flying fuck to themselves. I hope each and every person behind banning that song gets a severe case of kidney stones.

We failed to deal with Martin O'Neill's celtc and a brilliant team was destroyed by some criminal transfer activity in the summer of 2000. Advocaat also lost the dressing room big time.

If we had kept the heid and bought wisely that summer we would have been stronger against a reborn celtc and would have wiped the floor with everyone in that CL group. It angers me that we didnt build properly on 1999/2000. Shocking signings such as Konterman, Ricksen, Allan Johnson <yikes> Paul Ritchie and Kenny Miller really set us backwards. Then there was the panic buys of Tore Andre Flo, Marcus Gayle and Fabrice Fernandes <doh>

As for the dressing room, Albertz, Tugay and Reyna were all alienated at some point. Amoruso was stripped of the captaincy and being made a scapegoat (although he did have a bombscare moment late against Monaco when we were nearly through) and finally Gio had decided he wanted to leave and we realised how much of a massive player he was for us.

The only signings we had to make were de Boer and Hartson along with either a big brute of a centre half to provide competition or maybe partner Moore or maybe even the other de Boer. We should have taken the threat from celtc more seriously and not tinkered with the squad too much.

We're all geniuses in hindsight though, and I dont think any of us knew the amount of downsizing that would be coming our way.

it was definitely our loudest song. shivers down the spine. cant believe we got put out that year we played sturm graz. that was some team we had <sigh>

On a brighter note, Monaco(who were also in our group) got to the final that year(maybe) with a certain Dado Prso.

P.S. The above might be utter ****e, but I can't be ****ed checking, because I got ma hole last night!(Naw a didny!)

What about Sutton ... he claims he was offered to Rangers 1st and Rangers declined ...he then went to Celtic!

haha, ****ing right he was, almost as much as Roberts was in the 2-2 game when he was in the goal!

First I've heard about that.

I hate that big diving, scowling cunt but I'll be the first to admit he was a brilliant player. If we had signed him then I'm almost certain we would have made it 3 in a row that year. We needed a player like him, especially as Mols was still in recovery (he sadly never fully recovered). Instead of signing a quality striker, Advocaat fannied about with the defence and pissed off the whole midfield (Barry Ferguson being the exception).

Maybe the problem is that both rangers and hearts SEE themselves as proddie teams....simmering with religious intolerance

I think the main problem in scottish football is that teams like rangers and hearts see themselves as football teams, whereas celtic and their fans just see them as "proddie teams" and so hate everything about them.
maybe if they treated them as footballing opposition teams instead of symbols of hatred then they would cope a bit better in the SPL.

anyway it's not all bad news for celtic fans - just heard that brown was out till december.
