Who would you like to see as our new manager?

If you can't think of anybody, what sort of manager would you like to see brought in? A manager who has worked in and knows this league? A foreign manager who could bring fresh ideas and a new identity to our play?

I've put up a list of managers out of work, who could be approachable with the new owners. I don't think Marco Silva would be out of the question, he's been out of work for a while now and although his last two jobs didn't go that well, I still feel he's a more than capable manager and it would definitely show ambition. Nigel Pearson has been discussed on here and seems to be a favourite for quite a few. Paul Cook knows this league inside out and done two smashing jobs at Portsmouth and Wigan. He'd be a decent shout.

    Maybe I'm being too ambitious?

Realistically Cook would get us out of this league. Would be my number 1 choice.

I'm starting to lean towards him as well. He might be able to remind Grigg how to score after previously working with him.

Should have been Cook and Reidy from the minute we entered this league

I've said Paul Cook but I'm not convinced it will be anyone on the list and might be someone foreign and largely unknown to us but with decent pedigree abroad. Maybe someone like the Leeds manager who was little known beforehand

You know we are getting close to a manager change when the 'if he is sacked who would you want next ' threads start.

I’d have loved Nigel Clough! Perfect fir the fans and the club. Plays good football and knows the game. Unfortunately we’re late to that party. Cook will probably be the way to go.

I like the sound of Marco Silva. I don't think it's too far fetched, it'd be an appealing project with the financial backing and he'd be paid the wage he'd expect.

He won’t come back here. He’s already said that (unfortunately)

He's been out of work for a year, if it all falls into place like we are hoping then we should have plenty of appeal to potential managers.

Cook is the smart and logical choice for me.

Several on that list I’d be delighted with though.

A manager similar to him. Unknown in this country initially, but has a clear management style of high intensity football, gets the most out of players and develops individuals, and the team

I mean if I was a manager I'd fancy it. Be a great chance to rebuild his reputation after a bit of a slump.

The Cowleys for me. I think a project would be perfect for them. They could grow with the club and the club could grow with them. They're open to new innovations and new ways of working. And they're young enough to take on the whole rebuilding operation and see it through.

Wouldn’t mind that tbh. Might get some good unknown players from abroad instead of the same plodders we’ve been signing for years.

Was he unknown in this country? I know he's not managed here before but he's one of the most respected managers in world football. He mentored Guardiola
