This morning I read a comment about Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab.
It stated that Biden’s team, dislike Raab almost as much as they detest Johnson.
Bodes well for the future.
Apparently Theresa May was 9th in line for a phone call, when Trump made President.
It will be interesting to see where Johnson features in Biden’s list, especially with regards to the comments you have shared about his desire for a United Europe.

Boris Johnson appears to be trying to woo Joe Biden in the hopes of getting a US trade deal before the end of the Brexit transition period.
But a former Obama aide and ally of the president-elect isn’t going to be swayed that easily.
On Saturday, Johnson posted a congratulatory graphic on Twitter.
He wrote that the US is the UK’s “most important ally” and said that he looks forward to “working closely together on our shared priorities”.
In response, the Obama aide described Johnson as a “shapeshifting creep”.
Damning.
Tommy Vietor, Obama’s former national security spokesperson, explained how Democrats would “never forget your racist comments about Obama”.
The ‘racist’ comments refer to Johnson, in 2016, suggesting that Obama being “part-Kenyan” might impact his relationship with the UK.
In a column for The Sun, Johnson wrote about Obama’s “ancestral dislike of the British empire”.
At the time, Johnson was widely criticised for the offensive rhetoric.
It’s apparent that, in Obama’s circles, there’s still bad blood.
Another ally, Chris Coons, suggested that Johnson might have “copied” Trump’s style.
In an interview with BBC’s Andrew Marr, Coons explained how he hoped there would be “some reconsideration of whatever comments may have been made about the moment of Brexit.”
But Coons, a long-time friend of Biden and Democrat senator, was less critical than Vietor.
He said that he found the prime minister to be “more agile, engaging, educated and forward-looking” than the media’s characterisation of him.
Coons also said he cared more about the “enduring interests” that have “long-held us together with common values”.
At least one ally is trying to smooth things over.
But it looks like Johnson has his work cut out for him in winning over some senior Democrats.

Excellent news for us in the long term, it means Johnson needs to go to the EU cap in hand or face grave consequences.
It destroys the Conservatives Internal Market bill, their latest attempt at restarting conflict in Northern Ireland for ****s and giggles, that would also have inflicted further damage on the Union.
It also means no asset stripping, standard destroying Trump 'deal'.
What a shame for Johnson that it will show him to be as weak and useless as we know him to be.

I'm feeling quite hopeful after the election of Uncle Joe and Kamala. I have a feeling that this might amount to much more than what it appears on the surface. It could be the first signs of a complete reset and a more widespread rejection of populism. As such The Pffefester and his Brexit pals may find that this election is their Stalingrad, with a long and painful retreat ahead ending in the bunker, or at least the rough. ( see what I did there?)

I am waiting to see if any Tory MPs start voting against the government, on controversial issues, as a method of separating themselves in preparation for launching a leadership bid.
At the moment, with every Tory MP effectively following orders on how to vote, everyone of them is tainted by Johnson’s decisions, which could also affect future dealings with the USA.

There are too many Brexiters who will never admit to making a mistake.
Just as there are a lot of Tory voters who can see the nastiness and pettiness in Trump, who can’t see that Johnson (and many of his cabinet) as being a replica of the Orange One and who would vote for him again, if he survives the next 4 years.
I have often been a critic of the way this government has handled this pandemic but credit where credit is due, they seem to have sorted out the track and trace issue at long last. Seems like good value at £10 Billion .....

I have no issue with contracts being handed-out to non-government organizations
BUT
- there has to be a fair and open selection process,
- the tender should be open to internal government groups too,
- their should be specific targets for the contracts to fulfil,
- there should be built-in penalties for not meeting said targets,
- MP's/Ministers should not be solely responsible for selecting the winning tender.
