Are you being serious ? All people are doing is paying their respects and remembering a former player and club legend. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't Liverpool fans pay respect to certain people on a certain day ? or is that self pity ?
Can understand where the scouser on our boards is coming from, where any of you guys even old enough to remember Duncan Edwards? He was clearly a great footballer back in his time, but putting up RIP articles 50 years on, is abit obsessive
Disagree. Yes no one here knew him; doesn't mean no one cannot pay their respects. My God i didn't know any of the RAF during the Battle of Britain, but I still admire them.
Silly scouse bastard. No need. I dont know every soldier who fought in world wars 1 and 2 but I still pay my respects to them.
Well I don't understand why people would want to mourn about a guy who died long before they were even born, yes he may have been a great player, but his life has been mourned by thousands of United fans from that era. It's more than 50 years on now. It's like having memorial shows on Queen Victoria, on the anniversary of her death every year, get a grip guys, you didnt even see the guy play. It's 2011 now
My own opinion (I have no authority to try and speak for all Liverpool supporters) is that threads such as this are best left alone by all visitors unless you are intending to offer support. I think Swarbs's post is out of line too - but that is a discussion for another time and place. I never saw Edwards play but he's still a United Legend and therefore R.I.P.
