The aim in footie is to score goals - to ensure a win you must score more than your opponents. It's not rocket science. So why are teams awarded a point in a game where they couldn't score? 3pts Win 1pt Score Draw 0 pts No score draw/Loss Comments?
The other main aim of a game is to defend well and stop your opponents from scoring. Surely that must get you something?
But good defending is only a starting point for winning, scoring goals is the ultimate aim, or the game suffers...
Fair point, but how many times do you hear top, and I mean top, Managers say that the first thing they look for is a clean sheet?
Because if you keep a clean sheet the job is easier - you ony need one goal. If you can't manage that no point!!!
