Just reminded me, and I know I'm going off topic, but did you see the story this week about the British Euromillions winners in January? They used to play the normal lottery with the same numbers every week. When they had a kid it became a case of nappies for the kid or their lottery tickets so they stopped buying the tickets. A few weeks later their numbers came up. Now other than the fact they probably shouldn't have been having a 4th kid if their finances were that tight, I'm glad for the kid's sake they've won big now. Can you imagine in a few years the **** they'd have been given by their older brothers/sisters when they couldn't get something they wanted because there wasn't enough money.

You truly are a clown. By no means am I AP's biggest fan but he was instrumental in keeping this club alive when he re-joined us and very instrumental in the allam bid. He's been nothing other than a miracle worker and the players he's managed to sign already show that he has huge ambition for the club! We're now a team that can build for the future and also a team thats well capable of getting promoted (although not season imo). Maybe we wouldn't have reached the prem if he'd have stayed but we certainly wouldn't have gone in as much debt! (Personally I don't think we'd have stayed up after the first season if he'd have stayed) Can you honestly say that you'd rather have duffen in charge instead of Pearson? :headbang::emoticon-0172-mooni

    Wow, intelligent.

Let's be honest, we're only signing Championship standard players, I know we beat Scunthorpe 5-1 and according to the "Fickle Fans Guidebook" I should be saying we'll win the league by 10 points, but this team isn't going up because it's not good enough, the couple of forwards we've signed is one from League 1 and one that a team we should be competing with doesn't want. They've had a good start but I do wonder if they can produce it over a full season, and if by some miracle we did get promoted would they cut it in the Premiership? I doubt it.

We've sent out best player out on loan and practically released our captain, does that really show ambition? The team we have now is on of economy purchases. Ultimately, you have to take risks to get promoted/stay up and Adam Pearson isn't willing to do that.

Adam Pearson is obviously a better businessman than Duffen, that's undoubted, but seeing as though I don't have shares in the club nor am I it's accountant, from a pure footballing perspective you'd have to say Duffen.

*Awaits people misunderstanding my post and calling me a moron*

    Yeah, two things:

    1. I don't read the HDM at all.

    2. Didn't you put me on ignore? Please for the love of God keep it that way.

loaned out our best player and are full of economy signings? You do know one of those 'economy signings' is belaid who has played and scored in the champions league? Have any of our other players (apart from barmby) done this?

I have never been PB's biggest fan but surely he isn't stupid enough to just let Duffen sign players for him without asking? The likeliness that he knew nothing of what was going on as a manager that surely must get involved in contract talks and scouting is pretty slim, unless he is a lot worse a manager than we thought!
He always seems to slip the net and avoid any kind of blame when it comes to the Duffen saga...

That's really irrelevant, he's played in the Champion's League for Slavia Prague, Gary Hooper plays for a Champions League club, yet he's not good enough for half the Championship.

I'll get enthusiastic about Belaid when he plays well for us, not when he scores against the Romanian champions in an effectively meaningless Champions League game.

Yet people say I talk bollocks...

    A. Phil Brown is not a bad manager, if he is, I'd like to see your criteria for a good one.

    B. You say he avoids blame, if anything he gets too much, his job was to manage the FOOTBALL side of things, Duffen did the money. Obviously Duffen was completely ****ing useless at finances, but Brown isn't going to turn down more cash to spend, just like any departmental manager in any company.

I'm gonna say that he had his own targets (zayatte, altidore, king etc.) but when it comes to both contract negotiations and the final say about who comes and go's where duffens responsibility. Didn't zayatte come out and say duffen did all the negotiations when he signed permanently? Or am I mistaken?
