I'm behind you...
Geordie in peace.

spurs' danger men are pretty obvious to most these days but as Newcastle have been flying under the radar in recent months i'm curious as to what the southern take is on our danger men?

many haven't really seen enough of our team to truly know who they should be looking out for which has been playing into our hands recently.

who would you consider our biggest threat next game?

I don't think there is anyone in your team who is a particular danger to us.

Carroll, had he still been with you, would have been a danger to us during set-plays, but he's gone. Barton, had he still been with you, would have been a danger with his range of passing and his box-to-box antics, but he's gone.

I'm not saying that you don't have the ability to hurt us, because you can; but I'd say that about any EPL side.

This is a game that most Spurs fans will be expecting to win.

The fact that he's mentioned Barton but failed to mention Cabaye is fatal evidence that he has absolutely no idea about our team. Shame.

Your biggest goal threat appears to be Ba, but a lot of his service seems to come from pacey wide players, in a rejuvenated Obertan and the temperamental Gutierrez.
Tiote's your destroyer, though how he avoided getting sent of at WHL last season was beyond me.
Cabaye seems to be the more creative guy alongside him, a little like our Modric and Parker combination.
Not really sure of Best's qualities as I haven't seen that much of him.

If we can expose your full-backs and force your wingers to defend and cover, then it'll be down to our central midfielders to nullify Cabaye and force Tiote into rash challenges.
Bale against Simpson might be the telling match-up.
Two right-backs have already been sent off while trying to deal with the Welshman.

Although i think you're well within your rights to hope for a win i think its a tad insulting to say we don't have ANYONE in our side to worry about. many of our players have been making it into various teams of the week and we've got some very good individual players that might make you sit up and take notice come game time.

I agree whole heartedly about our full backs being the make or break battle of the game and i don't fancy eithe rof our boys to be much cop against your wingers. i just hope we can stretch you enough to keep it an open game and then its anybodies ball game. I think you'll be pleasently surprised how good cabaye is he's a bit of a poor man modric but he can get stuck into the tackle for a wee fella.

That's what happens when a team flies under the radar, none of their players are linked to The Usual Suspects in gossip columns come Monday morning and, as a result, this apparently makes them not worthy of attention. Apart from a one-day "Tiote to Chelsea" story in the summer, that's all the attention they got.

It can also be said that, Best aside, as most of Newcastle's best players aren't English - so they don't get the hype that Carroll or Barton got. Again, this somehow translates as Cabaye, Jonas, Coloccini or Demba Ba not being good enough when, in actual fact, they're good players and they;re playing well. Arsenal would kill for players to fly under the radar like that at the moment.

Ba's a tricky customer as is Ben Arfa. Tiote's a good player but I haver horrid feeling he's going to do someone like Bale some real damage.

For me it's not so much any individual in your team that worries me, it's that you are a good overall side.

If you find my opinion insulting, that's your problem, not mine. I'm not going to change my opinion merely to keep you happy!

I don't think you have any one player who is so good that we need to single him out. Very few teams outside the top 5 clubs actually do. As a team, you are playing very well, and we have to be wary of that, which I am sure we will be.

The only reason this thread has been posted on our board is because you want us to praise your players. What if I were to post a thread on your board entitled "Name the Spurs player you love the most and explain why he's going to annihilate you" I'd been shouted down as a wum.

And to think, Newcastle fans were so much more polite when staying up was the only hope they had for a season...

Cabaye's box-to-box play and range of passing is already far superior to Barton's. Naturally I'm going to defend my team if someone claims that Spurs fans will be "expecting" to win, but the person shows a basic lack of knowledge about the quality or abilities of our side. I'm sure you would be the same.

yeah because that would be blatant wummery. at no point have i said we have 'X' player thats going to murder your team. I only asked the question in the 1st place as when we've played anyvbody else they appear to have looked past the players we consider our best whilst giving it the whole 'andys gone and joeys gone' etc. I wanted to know whether or not spurs fans would be looking past our players like everyone else seems to have done. i.e do you lot take us lightly. which i'm hoping for in all honesty as its been really satisfying when we have turned them over.

I'm not saying we're going to turn spurs over but i find your arrogance astonishing. as for for your use of lanuage i'm sure you could try and be 'nice' on here but i've read enough from you already to know that you're clearly a dick head in reality in any case.

Shut it Chappaz! You are bang out of order!

You know, in your heart, like all us NUFC fans, that Tottenham have a far superior squad and team than us. We have absolutely no chance of beating them, and we are only where we are in the league because we have only played crap teams, and have also been very lucky.

Paul Merson and Mark Lawrenson can't both be wrong, surely. We have no one who could possible trouble the mighty Spurs, who only have to turn up, at SJP, to pick up three points. They always do!!

Forgive me for stating the obvious (well obvious to those with a brain) but this article is posted on the Spurs' board and NOT on the Newcastle board.

No one is forcing Newcastle followers from reading the comments, in fact no one is forcing you to come onto the Spurs' board in the first place.

Forgive me if i thought that football forums were for football discussions....

correct me if i'm wrong but theres usually two teams involved in a game of footy and being a regular on the newcastle board i have a fairly good idea of the opinions of the posters on the subject.

I was simply trying to get a spurs perspective and its not ususual that i might have a flutter onto an opposing teams board for a bit of banter pre game. its inevitable that there'll always be some that have to make it a bit spiteful but its a shame this thread seemed to nose dive before there was any real craic on here.

We never take any side lightly.

What you really want from us is to tell you that "such and such" is a great player, when none of us think that. You have a solid enough squad, but you have been weakened by the players you have lost.

Why ask for my opinion only to slate me for offering it. If you're not prepared to like my opinion, don't bother asking the question in the first place.

I don't understand how arrogance comes into it?

You want us to dismiss your players but you're getting all upset with HIAG for doing so. Grow up if you're going to post on our board, or atleast have a point to your posts :)

That's true. How silly of me to even question such inevitability.

It's not untrue, to be fair but we've been beaten by worse sides than you before.
