I know mate he's very basic so it won't make much difference, but if he wants to do better he needs to get rid of that trainer.

Ultimately he's just not very good... He's tough ill give him that, but the power it looked like he had at the lower weight was what made him look dangerous in his early days, but that power was never actually real.. He's European level at best

As for how laws... Omg he was pure entertainment but seriously I've got better skills.. Hearn just used that clown... Embarrassing
He’s a brawler mate and usually good entertainment in front of a Geordie crowd who lift the roof for him.

But he got absolutely schooled last night by a boxer who despite his years, was at least one class above.

Boxing lets itself down with decisions like that. Fair play to Hearn for calling it out though. Bellew as well, he was genuinely aghast at that joke decision.

Shocking mate I felt so sorry for vaquez coming over and he did he wanted to be a world champion again then that happened.. I was obviously really hoping ritson would be what they thought he nigh be because Newcastle really needs something to be proud of and get begind, but sadly it's not to be and that robbery makes it even worse for me.

I’d have liked to see Ritson win as well mate, but we’re both fans of the sport first and foremost.

If I was them I'd consider moving back down a weight class.. Ok he lost to patera, but he's got more chance there than in this one and at least he carries some power there, but tbh I don't see him ever doing anything special.

The trainer though... He's got to get someone good and he might be able to learn a few things. He's incredibly basic isn't it.

Maybe ritson might inspire some of the youth off the streets and into gyms up here. I think if newcastle produced a boxer the following would be incredible.

Fury will be fighting in December against an unknown opponent https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/54677216

Would be too short a turnaround for the WBC #1 challenger in Povetkin so am curious if they will get someone half decent or some bum to pad his record.

Rumour has it being Carlos Takam so would be the latter.

Fury has been a boost to boxing. First time I was interested in a fighter in donkeys years.

The Mayweather McGregor fight and now the possible fight with a ****ing youtuber, is making a mockery of the sport.

Wouldn’t bother trying to convince that Joshua fanboy bro.

Never seen Joshua fight, am sure he's perfectly good, but that's not what makes Fury so great, it's the whole package. When you got a **** talker who makes bold claims, and then goes and does it.. that's what gets everyone ginned up.

McGregor did it in MMA, tons of **** talk and predictions of smashing people, goes and does it.

I like a good anti hero, though I think Fury is just the 'hero', not the anti hero like McGregor
Both of them have the 0 to hero story too

Judge Terry O'Connor has been cleared of allegations that he used a mobile phone while officiating Lewis Ritson's win over Miguel Vazquez last Saturday.

O'Connor scored Saturday's fight 117-111 in Ritson's favour as the Briton won the WBA intercontinental light-welterweight title on a split decision.

The judge appeared before British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) stewards to "discuss his performance".

They concluded his scoring was not "affected in any way".

The result of the fight was widely criticised on social media, with pundits, managers and trainers questioning the scoring.

Ritson's promoter, Eddie Hearn, questioned whether the judge was looking at his phone while officiating. Hearn, who was not at the fight, also said Vazquez deserved to win.

The BBBofC stewards considered the "allegations made on social media and the print media as to Mr O'Connor using a mobile telephone or similar handheld device".

BBBofC general secretary Robert Smith said in a statement: "Following extensive consideration of footage and Mr O'Connor's evidence supplied, the stewards are satisfied that Mr O'Connor was not in possession of any telephone or handheld device whilst carrying out his duties."

Smith said the stewards were "satisfied that Mr O'Connor's final score reflected his own opinion of the contest".

O'Connor, who is a former professional boxer, has judged more than 500 fights.

A second judge scored the fight in Peterborough 115-113 in favour of Ritson, while the other gave it to Mexican Vazquez 116-113

Scandalous that like. There was actual pictures of him using a phone wasn’t there?

Plus, I don’t care if he’s judged 10,000 fights, if he’s honestly got that as 6 round win for Ritson he was either off his tits or he watched a different fight to everyone else.

I just want interesting fights - one sided beatings are boring which is likely if his next opponent is on the calibre of Takam or Rivas.

BTW it looks like McGregor will be facing Pacquiao next <doh>
