I pride mesel that my integrity, spelling and grammar remain despite my alcohol intake. That disintegrated, last week, for which I'm ashamed.

And now, Mrs Smug is calling me to the pool where I'm to initiate the 'end of grape picking bbq'. This estate has a tradition of providing a feast for the workers at the end of the harvest. I'm expected to play the host so may be gone for a while.

    Excellent post mate
Haven't been a Rodwell fan since he arrived.
He cocked up the season ticket refunds and the Prem Big Picture thing could have been avoided
but To be fair to him he spoke very well yesterday. By all accounts he's bright bloke and will realise where his bread is buttered if he's to have a future here after Donald.

Was very telling on yesterdays pod cast that he distanced himself from Donald.
When asked if they spoke regularly he just said we have board meetings and Donald is on the board.

Absolutely no idea who NQD is, he cetainly isnt one of the two other people who was with me when i spoke to who i refer to. The difference is, who i spoke to wasnt a source of mine, it was someone i bumped into on a personal level and had a bit craic with him. Donald will not let go of the club in this league. This crap about him not being able to afford it is bollocks. Its the club getting further in debt.

If that's the case, he can't expect anyone to pay his asking price

Listened to it again this morning and its happening like. There is not a chance our CEO would go on an official club podcast and lie through his teeth. He has nothing to gain from it and literally everything to lose from it. We have two huge Sunderland fans as our directors now and not a chance they would allow a lie of that magnitude to take place.

Plus it almost backs up what genuine itks have been saying for weeks

People who are claiming they have sources who are saying nothing is happening are being lied to basically

I have a similar thing with Roy Keane, I'm not claiming I know him but I met him when he was our manager through something I had organised for work and he made me promise him that nothing that happened that day would get out into the media, I have kept that promise and will continue to do so.

I have wrote it all down and have thought about sending it to him to test his response but as it is I respect what he did for me and would never betray his confidence.

I’m certainly not in the know and I don’t know anyone who is. I’ve seen loads on here thinking out loud about how/if SD will remain a shareholder and I think that’s probably at the heart of the delay in the deal.

I have been involved in loads of sales/purchases of businesses for clients (doing the related employment work) and I think that the issue might lie in the pre-emotion rights for future investment. What often happens is that if a company needs more £ it has to ask the existing shareholders first - they then invest in the same proportion as they currently own.
SD is probably worried that if more £ is needed he can’t join in and therefore his % gets reduced by dilution. That would reduce any 25% blocking share he had being seriously devalued down the track.
Alternatively they might be arguing over “drag along”/ “tag along “ rights where minority shareholders can be forced to sell at a price or demand their shares are bought at that price.
Lots of deals get lost on the arguments over these “what happens if” scenarios. Given the uncertainty around football finance generally at the minute there’s going to be a lot of focus on the “what if” questions.
As others have said - no deal until it’s all signed off... I just hope it is soon.

One of the Jarra lads then, I only remember, the Twins, DM, JA and TO at Blackpool Anyhow I’m not doubting people hearing different things mate, it’s bound to happen, it’s when people are being called liars that riles me. I don’t know one Sunderland fan who would purposely mislead another. How can I dispute what anyone has heard? I can question it, but I cant deny you’ve heard something.

The last sentence says a lot.

Of course it's the club that is gathering up debt. But he owns 74% of it, so he owns most of the debt. And he'll keep owning more and more of it. Maybe he can afford to keep pouring millions in, Maybe he can't and he let's the debt get out of hand and the club goes into admin, at which point I understand the main creditors take ownership.

Either way, Donald is in an uncomfortable position , bordering on the untenable. He owns an asset whose value is shrinking because of an external health crisis, and is reviled by those people he needs on his side.

The clubs debt is largely his debt. If he can afford to keep funding the losses he might well stay around for a long while. If he can't, he will be gone at the point the club is unable to meet the bill's as they thud onto the mat. This point will come sooner rather than later IMO.

Aye mate. Want a change more than most ! Safc is all I have known, was home and away for years but then just had to be home as my job got more serious and started a family. We desperately need change.

Over here, I have had no abuse. To be fair, over the road, there were only some. I just put them on ignore but then I started to lose my temper when certain things were said and that led to getting the attention of the mods and warnings dished out. That's up to them I guess.

RTG is quality in the main and will post on there still, just sticking to what I said initially with posting on the main takeover thread. Got to be honest, I was tempted yday when Rodwell gave that statement. It's what I have been saying for a while, I was going to post on here midweek as I thought something would come out this weekend. Didn't even get on here once, just too busy. That said, happy I didn't post on that thread and stuck to my guns lol.

Everyone over here has been spot on.
