Newcastle
There's been a post a few minutes ago about Ranger going to be punished by the FA for not playing for England. Ironically, we are bottom of the sun's "Table of Shame".

Out of the 329 players that have played for Newcastle, a massive 61% have been English. The biggest percentage of all the clubs in the Premier League. The top of the table sits, unsurprisingly, is Arsenal with only 12% of their overall players being English.

Makes me think about Newcastle and England here, think of the team we have at the minute.

Harper, Simpson, Williamson, Stevie Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Sol Campbell, Guthrie, Barton, Nolan, Shola and there's more but I cant be bothered to list them all... so even though some our players are overlooked from the england squad although they clearly deserve it (im quite glad also at the minute) we are the most English club in the premier league.

I'm pretty proud of that.

I think on the last day if we are clear of relegation should field a british team

Harper,
Simpson, Taylor, Williamson, Tavernier(if hes back)
Barton, Nolan, Guthrie, Ferguson
Ranger, Best

Wed get great press coverage and stick 2 fingers up at the FA

Whenever a team from England succeeds they're usually more British than just English. Specifically I refer to arguably one of the best teams in History, the treble winning Manchester United side of 1999. They had prominent players from every reach of the British isles and all came together to be the best footballing side in Europe and dominantly so in England.

it actually made me a little proud that Sunderland are second bottom! The North-East, a hotbed for British football!!

Saying that, i dont support England anymore (in football, support our troops!!!), im a Denmark fan, thanks to the world's greatest living player... ... Daniel Agger!

I don't support our troops either....

But Ireland isn't in Britain???

He's born and bred in Shottingham though, think he's Irish through grandparents or something.

(I say Shottingham as I can't remember the rough area/ghetto in Nottingham - remember reading he's from there, been through it once or twice and it makes our rough places look nice!)

We'd probably get fined by the FA like Olly for fielding a weakened team!

BBBBOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Deal with that emoticon barrage!

Hahaha.
I have friends in the armed forces, coming from the North East it's inevitable isn't it!
But they all knew what they signed up for when they applied, most of my mates are just doing it for the money/having a job & free education in a trade for when they're civvies & know that they're not exactly fighting a moral war - all about oil & power these days (not long after Sadaam was overthrown my dad got offered loads of jobs in Iraq for rebuilding the oil industry there on crazy money).
Now our grandparents/great grandparents were the real heroes in the army - at least their cause was just!

Drop Best, start Shola!
Shola is Nigerian born, only played for England youth teams since he settled over here <ok>

Yeah but he has never played for Nigeria due to his latest injury, therefore if he is called up, he can play for England!

I lived there for 5 years.

Sneinton, Meadows, Radford... all **** holes of the highest order.

I lived down there for sometime and there are some serious ****e areas, St.Annes where he is from is ruff as fook. That where that young girl was shot on the way home from Goose Fair.

I lived in bullwell on the outskirts and that was a hole as well.

Gun capital of the country <laugh>

I had a cheap flat in Radford for 6 months. The crack den next door kept rental prices low and the nice neighbours ensured that I moved out with far less than I moved in with.

Eventually bit the bullet and moved into the Park (a gated compound) to save my remaining possessions.
