Why do they need to change PL club voting rights to do that? The whole owners check and takeover approvals should be done by an independent body anyway.

For me this saga just confirms that Pool and United have no doubt bribed officials in the past. Money is their power...this is the richest league in the world makes sense to me referee decisions clarify my theory
What do you think you’re left with if this happens out of interest? The PL would be left in tatters, every big funder/broadcaster pulls the plug overnight, clubs left without money to cover overheads. Breaches of contract everywhere and a group of very wealthy owners, broadcasters and investors sitting there waiting to pick up the pieces. It’s a hostile takeover.

Because your club is propped by the commercial framework that the PL have agreed. It’s like your income all of a sudden gets slashed in half (or worse) and you’ve got no mechanism in place to cover overheads such as player wages. Unfortunately I think you're right and the threat might well be enough, especially as there's a lack of owners in the league who care about the fans or tradition. Doesn't mean I won't enjoy the (very) remote possibility of it happening in the meantime though, as I genuinely think it'd be the best thing to happen to the game for years. You know what they say about ignorance being bliss.

Depends when it happens and what break clauses there are in any such contract should the PL and it’s broadcast partners fail to meet their contractual obligations.

Good question, the much heralded euro super league is years off yet and 6 teams from England but will the rest of the European countries have 6 teams,I doubt it.
I think the PL inception proves that it can be done again, and the EFL could just be the vessel for carrying a new league. I think from The Glazers point of view (from their slippery ****ing greedy view) they’ll think “We haven’t had a sugar daddy, we’re a (The) major pull for broadcast revenues, we have built a sound commercial model, but we end up splitting it with minnows who (like WBA, Norwich) just feast and **** off again”. Typical Yank mindset like you say, just trying to think what their gripes are with current set up.
Euro super league is a non-starter imo, they won’t disconnect with their cash cow, which is the fans. The platform just doesn’t have the same appeal without the rivalries established over the last 100+ years.
