    So I’ve heard. But sometimes older people get diagnosed with illnesses that don’t actually end up progressing very much. My mum was diagnosed with CPD years ago (ex heavy smoker) but it hasn’t ever got any worse.

    Interesting article on the connection here, if you can be asked to read it....

    https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laneur/article/PIIS1474-4422(20)30305-7/fulltext

    An extract from it;

    Parkinson's disease is often preceded by anosmia, which is a common feature of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
    Immune activation in the olfactory system might eventually lead to the misfolding of α-synuclein and the development of Parkinson's disease.
    This mechanism is supported by post-mortem studies, showing increased levels of TNF, IL1, and IL6.
    Moreover, patients with Parkinson's disease had an elevated CSF antibody response to seasonal coronaviruses, compared with age-matched healthy controls.

    Anosmia link;

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anosmia#:~:text=Anosmia, also known as smell,to some or all smells.

    This is unrelated but worthy of note;
    I also followed a documentary on Dolly the Sheep, the connection being it led to experiments/cure for Parkinsons, due to the scietific mechanisms used (for want of better wording). Not related but Dolly the Sheep passed away on February 14, 2003, at the age of six after suffering from virus-induced lung disease. Spooky does Icke know <laugh>

    And me. After 3 weeks I still sound like I’ve run a marathon just walking up the stairs.

    Sir Keir Starmer, has just called for a short circuit breaker, he wants everyone shut down for two to three weeks, essential work and travel only, and close all restaurants, but financially support them.

    Sir Keir Starmer has confirmed he does not want schools closed, but also bear in mind half-term week is coming up.

    Grim but with the test and trace giving us about £12 of value for our £12bn it probably has to happen.

    If you’re going to do that, it 100% requires financial support. So I’d support a circuit breaker with the right financial support for workers and businesses

    Yeah, I've given up on it, I really don't know what the answer is. Everyone has different views on schools and restaurants. The only thing I do agree on is if you are going to do it, then do it half-term week, hopefully lessen the impact on the kids.

    There was, possibly still is, a rumoured vague plan to have a two week October half term and have it as a circuit break across the board.

    Could yet still happen?

    What happens when everyone ignores the lock down again during this circuit breaker?

    I think with Boris' idea it's three different rules, with added confusion until they put up the website to check your postcode. I think with Starmers idea, everyone gets hit with the same rule, I think it's clearer and a cleaner cut for everyone to understand. However, I'm sitting on the fence because tbph I ain't got a fooking clue anymore. I'd probably favour Starmers stance if push come to shove.
