These graphs are irrelevant, we weren't doing the tests in March /April/May it's accepted that infections were 100,000 ish a day then, and the death rates relate to that.

My granddaughter had a positive test and she had a cold for a couple of days, the same as her friend. Now someone else she sat next to last week has tested positive and even thought she has had it, has now got to isolate again which is a farce. I'm sorry but I find I'm disbelieving everything that is being said now. The deaths I've know about in the last few weeks have been 5 from cancer, 2 suicides and a dementia and one unexplained at the moment. Sadly they will never be able to get the infections to zero especially as at this time of year viruses have always been rife in schools.
Bring forward part of the summer holidays, extra week at half term, and extra week at Xmas, just to slow the spread.
Even if they slow things down, they will only rise again once everyone is back together again.
Yes I know but if it gets so high the hospitals can't cope, then the death rates will go up massively, the plan is to keep numbers as low as they can till a vaccine is ready.
To put that into context though if a vaccine becomes available and is produced at one dose every second that with take 247 years to produce a single shot for everybody in the world. I'm not saying it will take 1 second a shot but it does put the size of this task into perspective, especially as the reports I've read suggest the treatment will be two shots.
Think you’re partly right Eric. Listened to a professor on this issue and he said that’s why many manufacturers will be making it simultaneously. Would still take about a year to get it to most people after initial release. There’s a promising one which will have final results in December which is a one shot and is currently testing on 60k humans. Guess we just have to be patient. Hope they’re keeping Elland road cleaned in the meantime or we’ll be beating our way through cobwebs by the time we finally get back in

UK government are already letting out bits and pieces about only the elderly and vulnerable getting vaccines anyway. The rest of us just have to roll the dice I guess. Exactly like flu.
Over time the news will stop reporting covid numbers and it will just merge in with flu season and everything else that it brings. There will still be people dying of coronavirus in 30 years time but nobody will report it and it will be largely forgotten about.

The uk have agreements in place for enough to vaccine all within about 6 months of it being available.The Chinese probably already have the 2 billion vaccines they need, probably made before they released the virus.

Rather than listen to the bollox on the main news media which is really all about scaring the crap out of people, I like to look at data and the data used in this video is the same data the government use and every government in Europe. How you interpret that data is key, but if you start wrong and make cock ups its tempting to carry on so you dont look stupid.
