Sounds a good idea to me mate a ballot. I just don't see that lower league clubs can afford to let in discounted supporters. I get your point about PR disaster, but I reckon a fair few clubs as it stands will be lucky to survive pass this season.

I'm a ruthless fooker - Newcastle still looking for a new owner? <laugh>

There’ll be a bail out mate, there’ll have to be. Otherwise the majority of the EFL could fold, and that won’t be allowed to happen. There appears to be a stand off at the minute, with the Govt hanging back hoping the PL provide the solution and vice versa. It’ll likely largely only be a loan though, but one that can be structured over a lengthy period.

Yeah it'd be interesting to see how pubs turning people away goes, as you're only allowed to be seated at pubs at the moment aren't you?

They just need to stop these places selling alcohol, only food and non alcholic drinks to be served, most pubs these days cater for a non alcoholic market anyway (families and drivers), albeit alcohol is probably their price mark up for subsidising food.

Not sure it’s a great idea for clubs to seriously piss off their most loyal supporters. Football fans are used to having the piss taken by clubs, but making ST holders pay twice might be a step too far.

You're right, but I just know they are going to whine like fook, when they get moved from their seats, to somewhere they don't want to be. Some have said we didn't sell as many tickets as I suggested, although that was the previous number, the Febraury offer probably never gave no where near the same sales. If that's the case it won't be such a problem.

Less risky than pubs, difficult to be more than a foot apart in a pub
Could also allow beer to be sold in plastic glasses to inject some income
Also buy programmes, I refuse to buy online but always buy one at every match I have ever attended home and away
Most clubs could handle a third full capacity with powers to eject/ban any fans who refuse to follow the guidelines

See, I wouldn’t mind at all being asked to move my seat, so long as it was somewhere accessible for my 90 year old dad; but having to pay again when I’ve basically given them an up front payment for the season, that I wouldn’t accept.

Fair enough Archers, you are right mate. I used to be a season ticket holder, but gave it up some years back, because it wasn't always possible for me to attend evening games, something I've never been able to live down, after missing my only game one season against Hereford, long story. It's ok if it's only one game, it made it still worthwhile, but I was getting to the stage of missing three or four, once you get to that stage, it's easier to pay on the day. Albeit it with the £300 tickets it became more viable again, sadly my health didn't! Trouble is with me, I can't resist the odd poke at our season ticket holders, because I know it's normally easy to rattle their cages <laugh>

Almost 1 in 5 secondary schools are sending home pupils because of Covid. In many cases this is entire year groups as that's how the bubbles are set. In some circumstances I've heard about personally, pupils are returning only to be sent home again a few days later.

This is going to seriously fck up many children's future and a back up plan is needed for GCSE exams because covering curriculum to give them a fair chance of reaching their potential is becoming increasingly unlikely. Whilst teacher assessment and coursework as a back up grading system may not make up for lost time and gaps in learning, it will at least take away much of the stress the Yr 11's are and will be facing this year.

I've heard from 2 teachers this week, from separate schools, that the talk is, there will be anannouncement possibly this Friday that schools will be closing for an extra week for this coming half term. Not sure if they know something or it's just Chinese whispers

I know there was some chat several weeks back, that the government were going to come down on us during half-term week, in an attempt to break the spread. How true all that chat was I don't know, but I doubt it will be long before we find out.

It's been talked about in most schools tbh. There's no basis for it (at the moment) except rumours which actually stemmed from media reports. But the reason they're circulating is because suspicion is those media reports were thrown out there by the government to sow the seed.

They wouldn’t not add restrictions to their own constituencies because of political reasons would they?

    Seems they would

It may very well be necessary but that will only setback education even more, which makes the need to plan ahead now for next summer even more important.
