Everton have signed Ben Godfrey from Norwich for £25m.
Why have they suddenly started making sensible signings? Most disconcerting.
Good squad depth now. Just need to clear out some of the ****e, sign a keeper and do some fine tuning.

Being linked with Gazza this lunchtime
I don't mind Gazzaniga looking elsewhere for more football, as we've relegated him to third choice.
I really don't want him going to either of the Merseyside clubs though, as it's a problem position for both of them.
Pickford's erratic and Adrian's no good when he doesn't get regular games.

I don't want him to go to either, but equally if they are genuinely both interested it would be good to get a little auction going to push the price up.

I still don't understand how they've been spending so much for the last few years when they've been finishing midtable or below for the most part. They've been spending more than clubs in the traditional 'top six' have, at times.
Can someone remind me what the rules are on football club owners directly investing into the club?

This is true, but it's a serious point. I thought that the whole point of having FFP rules in the PL was to curb investment from owners, and to emphasize spending what you earn through gate receipts, commercial deals, sponsorships etc. So, with this in mind, how have they been in a position to spend so much when they've not been competing in Europe, not been winning any trophies and haven't been one of the main recipients of Premier League cash given their below-par domestic finishes?

The PL FFP rules the last time I looked were laughable compared to UEFA
(ostensibly IMHO to protect the Sugga Daddy FCs and the increasing
number of plastics they brought to the PL broadcast kitty) .

Therefore the issue for Everton (in the event they qualify for UEFA land
next season) is that they might fall foul of UEFA FFP. Given that they are
not a UEFA 'favourite' *** , they could be heavily punished.

*** ie they have nobody "bought and paid for"

Choupo-Moting has joined Bayern on a free.

A guy that got relegated with Stoke a few seasons ago has now joined the best team in Europe having spent two seasons with one of the other best teams in Europe.

Football’s a ****ing crazy sport.
All sports are littered with the same sort of occurrence and there is a good reason why. The difference between the 1000th best player in the world in any position and the tenth best isn't very much at all and one can easily become the other.

You're just pissed because Moshiri and Usmanov could afford to pay Gunnersaurus' wages.

Gaziantep FK, a mid-table Turkish club, have announced the signing of Kevin Mirallas:

They've done it using a picture of Morgan Schneiderlin, though. Racists.

Just thought I would take a look at SSN (mistake I know), to find some Brummie that I didn't recognise (now know it is that great authority Gabriel Agbonlahor) and amongst the gems he has given us so far (I have only been watching 10 mins) are that Newcastle have had the best Window, and that Everton and Arsenal (if they sign Partey) will both finish in the top 4. He maybe right but thats a big call at this stage. Maybe it's the accent but he doesn't appear to be brightest - I apologise of if that comes across as brummyist.

absolutely correct here. The whole flavour of the month and team systems. Players will look great and at time look awful.

To be fair, Kroenke can too. He just chooses to spend it on his lovely ranch he bought a couple years ago and the LA Rams' new $5bn stadium.

But Gunnersaurus is a martyr. Had to be sacrificed so we could pay for Thomas Partey <whistle>
The hero we needed, but not the one we deserved.
