Completely and utterly stupid sounding left field suggestion but in the absence of getting in any new strikers, what about O'Nien up front? I like his energy and he's got an eye for goal. Even if he just ran about up there he'd create a load of space for our attacking midfielders to use.
I had a similar idea but I suggested Hume because of his pace and energy. I'd certainly like to see Luke playing further forward I believe he'd impress in an advanced mid position if given the chance.
Mad how nobody at the club feels there's any need to sign a RB because we've got a CM doing his best there in a pinch and a backup who's absolutely useless.
I actually think O'Nien is better at RWB at this level than he is at CM. I think he'd be better further forward though, just not in the middle.
Who knows mate maybe you're right, we'll probably never find out. He is pretty handy on the wings but I for my money his physicality and pressing game would be best used in the middle. He's like a better Dobson.
I picture his finishing being diabolical but yeah with his pace and strength he'd certainly be effective. None of the lads we've got upfront have any fire in their belly apart from Graham maybe but he's mid thirties.

After Saturday's display - I hope not
Sounds like both Gooch and Maguire are doubts for Saturday. Would be a risk to start both, so we may see Parky shift to 2 up top
may also see dan and jack thrown in, could work IF we had strikers to feed off them, unfortunately i get the feeling that parky will give wyke another start as he is very unlikely to change 'his formation'...those two lads could make the step i think but would be wasted without a speedy striker, wyke will be too busy looking for fouls on defenders as an excuse.
This. Totally agree with Wyke gameplay, doesn't run into space or attack space, the ball, prefers to get involved in needless scuffles with the center-halves
An outside chance that Grigg might benefit from having some new players alongside as the Maguire/Gooch combo are a death sentence imo. As I said its an outside chance, but it would help if the "coaches" tried a few things out in training, our lack of preparation is laughable at times, ie Maguire taking corners with both Scowen and Grant on the field, surely he would be more use loitering on the edge of the box, where he is a very competent operator.
'needless' being the word here, the bloke ran behind defenders and either fouled or pretended to be fouled if he somehow found himself in front of one...every game i have seen this has happened and the damned annoying part of it is that when he actually attacks the ball/gets into a good position he scored, so the striker part of his play is there he seems to be running scared.
