Leon Best - So ****ing under rated

Agree that people are getting a bit carried away by him but I think your being a tad harsh on the bloke, a goal is a goal no matter how attractive or unattractive it might be, hes not the most technically gifted striker in the world but the main part of a strikers game is being in the right place at the right time and Best manages to do this a lot of the time and in my eyes seems to be improving with each game he plays.

Darren Bent never scores any screamers and he would probably get into most teams bar 2-3 in the league.

I definitely agree that another striker would be good, preferably of good quality and without an ego, but in the meantime aslong as the combination of Best and Ba, and probably Ben Arfa can stay fit, we will do well enough to see us to January and possbly beyond.

Scored 6 in 11 last season and has scored 3 in 6 this season.
I'd say that's a pretty decent record..!
 
Some fans are still obsessed with getting a trophy signing in.

I thought Ba and Best were magnificent in the first half. Their hold up play was superb and only when Ba got a knock and went off did we start to lose our strangle hold on the game.

Best has been a revelation this season. Would we all be pleased if we signed Ruiz for £10m?? Would take Ba and Best ahead of him any day of the week.

Agree a striker needs to be signed in Jan but I honestly think we should go for a real up and coming star rather than a big name signing and dropping Ba and Best (assuming they continue on this form)

Given I'm expecting by January we'll be playing 4-2-3-1 with Arfa and one of Best/Ba up front, all we need is the one striker to keep Shola and Lover out of the team.
 
We do a need striker in Jan though.. as Ba might be going to the Arfican Cup of Nations'. We need a striker to COMPETE with Ba/Best and keep Ameobi/Lovenkrands out of the team. <ok>

No Berbatov or Tevez! A decent, young and upcoming youngster with great potential would do me. No and not Ranger. Sammy is more of a winger IMO. <ok>

well aparently we're back in for maiga so he might be the answer dosnt seem brilliant from what ive heard and seen though

Definitely. Maiga seems to me to be overrated - his goal tally is far from spectacular, he's chucking up the ****s to get his exit. We need a pacey tricky striker to complement our two quality target men, to play off them and use their height to get the jump on our opponents. Maiga isn't what I'd have hoped for.

Mind that Eren Derdiyok from Bayer Leverkusen we've been always linked with seems to be doing well. Amazing this is.

if Best keeps scoring along with Ba i have no probs with either of them.
We do need an addition in Jan, as cover for injuries (touch wood) and african cup
sholas got his new deal and his performances have as usual dropped off
 
dont get me wrong like i said in my original post im not knocking best, hes a decent player but they are better players are out there, i dont like how we dress him up to be the player he isnt yes hes had a good start but hes terribly inconsistant.. and with bent the difference between him and best is if bent gets a sight of goal in the area you are confident that the ball is going in the net.. yes best does a job for us but we over hype him way too much.

and trophy signings... how is asking for a consistant scorer a trophy signing... id say its more of a good footballing decision, ffs
