Seems like handball rule changes this season will allow VAR to become the
football equivalent of the Corona jobsworth Nazis.

Just out of interest, does anyone actually think that today's penalty should be one?

Was that a pen today , yes by the definition of the law , absolutely not in the spirit of the game , what we saw today was exactly what the TV companies want and encourage so that the dullard pundits can drone on about it for the armchair viewers
We will soon see a kit with built in restraint's to keep the players arms in the " shape of the body" , going back to the CL final I am sure Toby would have blocked the second goal in the old days, if you watch it back he dives in with his arms in an un natural position because of what had gone on in previous games and the final
These new laws are ****e and are dragging the game down , laws made by faceless old men who have lost touch with the games roots

We may not like the rule changes for the handballs, but other than that VAR has had a decent weekend both reds today were probably right, the Brighton goal being awarded was good so more positives than negatives from a purely VAR (not rule change) point of view.

Correct me if I'm wrong , our 1st goal called offside because Son had not cut his toenails , that is rubbish he did not change the play , the 2nd I had no problem with it Lucas was offside and crossed the ball , lets go back to the days of not interfering with play

Didn't see first half of our game foolishly believed the media reports that both offsides were clear cut

The tactic for an inferior team used to be :

1. Try to stay in the game for as long as you can
2. Hope to steal a goal near the end

VAR this season has added :

3. Try to strike the ball so that by hook or by crook it
unavoidably strikes the arm of an opposition player in
their penalty area.

This started in the CL final

My 5yr old grandson watched the game with me, he said after the game that watching the Hemel Tudors was more fun because they dont cheat as much, out of the mouths of babes

I've just read that if we carry on with the current rate of penalties 203 the prem will have 3 times more than the 2001 and 03 seasons

I have to say I'm quite pleased with the handball rules and VAR this weekend... and probably most weekends <laugh>

All that VAR has achieved, is to confirm what many of us knew all along, and that is that football is awash with incompetence, agendas, favouritism, bias and corruption.

Also how "responsibility" is a dirty word

I know I keep bringing it up, but at the World Cup their VAR worked as the officials and VAR were from different associations, so the (sake of argument) Dutch VAR official had no problem overruling the Spanish officials - and we're not getting this in domestic football, as last season we had peers and colleagues covering each other's backs rather than admit fault, and this season they seem to be having a fight to see who can make the most baffling call and get away with it

This is damning mate. Can you forward me the dossier?
