I'll assume Spurs have generously made a substantial donation to the plight of Leyton Orient, in regards to the revenue they would have got from this tie. I'm not sure what the prize money is for the next round. I know the Carabao Cup dosen't pay that much, compared to other trophies.

Just hope Spurs do the 'right thing' and pay over what Orient have lost ... less than a week's wages of their top earners ...

Plus Spurs get the increased prize money for the next round, although it's probably pocket money to them.

Never mind the orient it's the Toon that's going to ruin Tottenhams season once again on Sunday

  5. Why should Spurs be obliged to pay anything?

It’s not our fault that so many Orient players tested positive for the virus. Given the very clear indication that the lower leagues are rife with this virus, it’s madness that this cup competition was permitted to go ahead without ALL clubs being properly tested.

Think of what could have happened if Levy had not insisted on Orient testing for the virus, and had Orient not volunteered to the testing! It isn’t only Spurs who could have been affected by this, had Spurs gone on to play other teams before re-testing players.

    This isn’t a Spurs-only issue.

I dare say that Spurs will do something to “compensate” Orient, because that is the kind of club we (despite the reputation attributed to Levy for being a hard nosed negotiator), but there should be no suggestion that there is any moral obligation on us to do so.

There is a moral obligation if you’ve refused to be flexible and see the game rearranged.

It's not about being 'obliged' ... it's about showing some benevolence to a smaler club (that hails from the same city) that has been severely disadvantaged in regard to a game that Spurs should have been involved in and have benefited from in terms of being awarded a bye by a non footballing decision ...<cheers>

  8. There are so many things wrong with that statement that I am not going to dignify it with a substantive response.

  10. It is the competition that has been compromised, and Spurs just happened to have exposed the problem.

Would you have rather drawn Orient? Would your club have offered to pay for the testing?

If there is any obligation to pay compensation, that’s an obligation owed by every team in the competition.

I responded to your post with an appropriate level retort.

Post some more dummy spitting pictures though Victor.

Spurlock and Hoddle is a god like this.

  14. I have noticed that you lack the ability to argue rationally and coherently when you get pushed onto the back foot in a proper debate.

You, almost invariably, resort to petty name-calling and invective.

You literally replied to my post with a retort saying you refused to give an actual reasoned response, thus ending any debate.

    Yet here’s you posting that.

Your complete lack of self awareness is spectacular.

You seem to be missing the point ... Spurs have benefited from the bye in terms of progression in the tournament (and probably financially too) ... Orient have had what to them is a substantial amount of money taken away (a sum which would mean nothing to Spurs) ... hence Spurs could make a magnanimous gesture that would help a small club in these troubled times ... there is no obligation ... it would just be refreshing to see.

Our late owner donated £2million to Leicester children's hospitals and a further £1 million to Leicester University hospital ... when a young Leicester City fan was diagnosed with a rare chromosome disorder (MECP2 syndrome) and his parents set up a fund to research it he paid in £44k so that it reached it's £100k target ... no obligation ... just putting something back into the community ... an example of "doing the right thing" when you are in a position to do so... <cheers>
