Could you donate plasma to help treat coronavirus (COVID-19) patients? Clinical trial We need people who’ve recovered from coronavirus (COVID-19) to donate blood plasma, as part of a clinical trial to help with the national effort against the virus. The trial will tell us how effective convalescent plasma (plasma from people who’ve had coronavirus) is for treating coronavirus patients. How you can help Please register your interest in donating plasma if you have: tested positive for coronavirus tested positive for antibodies had symptoms of the virus understood our eligibility criteria Not everyone will be able to donate. We may need to contact you with more questions. Plasma can be donated from 28 days after recovery.
I have given blood twice during pandemic. Both times with minimum of fuss.Seems to be one part of NHS that has managed to carry on.Just a few tweaks..there at prescribed time....no cup of tea afterwards but everything else ok. The only downside now is they tell you where you blood ended up...Liverpool both times!
My stepson (who works for NHS in Manchester) is on this trial, having tested positive for having had COVID.
Finally got a call Got to go to Leeds on Thursday to donate Takes two hours and there’s food on Result
I’m beginning to regret signing up Have a Low fat diet 24/48 hours prior to donating so please avoid oily or fatty foods such as; fish and chips, Chinese/lndian takeaways, pastries, cream, cheesecake, etc.
