Fair enough. I just think refs are too hasty sometimes, where as VAR is allowed to take forever to make a decision. Anyway, I was hoping the Chelsea player had got away with it, so i'm being bias
Good shout. And yeah completely mental, they were well in the game but he's cost them any chance of winning it now.
It was a clear red. It's when they inevitably award a penalty to Liverpool at half time due to Lampard whinging that LiVARpool trully ascend though.
Better to allow the goal or at least take the chance. Certainly a rugby tackle wasn't his best option there
If Mane gets to the ball before the keeper and scores then it is what it is, but getting sent off effectively ends the game as a contest.
Needed to check whether anybody else might have got to the ball ahead of Mane ... including the keeper ... if possibly... then would have been a yellow... as they wouldn't have, it's s red ...
Essentially he bottled taking any responsibility for the decision as he can just use VAR. Very poor officiating.
Or just making sure he got it right ... which was the whole intent of VAR in the first place ... so we are now here commenting on a correct decision ....
