Carlo Ancelotti has joked that seeing Thiago Alcantara join Liverpool "breaks my heart" as he tells the midfielder he has chosen the wrong team on Merseyside.
Liverpool earlier today confirmed the signing of the 29-year-old midfielder who played under Ancelotti at Bayern Munich.

Ancelotti described Thiago as a "fantastic player" but joked with the Spanish international he "chose the wrong team" in the city.
"Breaks my heart, breaks my heart," Ancelotti said.
"Thiago is a friend. He is a fantastic player, a fantastic midfielder. I had the luck in my career to train top, top players and Thiago is one of them
 
Liverpool will pay only £4million up front for Diogo Jota this summer after Wolves agreed to take the transfer payment ininstallments, according to The Athletic. Liverpool will make Jota their third signing of the window but will again use a payment structure rather than forking out the entire fee in one go.

Incredible business by the club. We’re effectively paying £10m for two players in the first 12 months. Hopefully after this, football economics becomes more stable!

Phased payments have been around in football for an age. This is just a particularly good deal for us....sorry that you don’t like it <laugh>

I was fairly impressed with hoever when he played, looked more than capable for an 18 year old. But we do seem to have a very good crop of defenders coming through. If hoever is the worst of them we are in good stead.
