That makes a certain amount of sense but if Gomez is doing his usual trick of wandering into midfield then we're ****ed. I think the positional sense of Matip outweighs the pace in this scenario.

Id go with Gomez purely on his pace tbh he needs more games than Matip to find his rhythm imo and he's not quite there yet so I'd stick with him for this one and hope it's the one where he does.

Its all gonna depend on who takes their chances as even if we control the midfield they have the option of hitting it behind trent for Werner and they're sure to find him at least a few times.

We need to start full throttle and aggressive and shake Chelseas new boys early.

All that said we have more than enough to win this comfortably.

Yeah we need to go at them, hopefully our midfield makes an appearance for this one.

No better game than the 1st to make all your mistakes in if you win it (Leeds)

Let's hope that's humbled VVD, woke trent up (that og header was shocking) only has to wait for the ball to drop and clear it but his awareness was non existent so he panics and thinks he's got someone right in him.

The whole midfield were poor too but it will be a completely different game against the chavs. Deffo won't be as open.

Difficult to call this one so early in the season. Need a big improvement in defence and midfield from the Leeds game. Win this and we are in great shape with Thiago arriving today as well
 
I’d imagine Fab will start with Hendo and Gini rather than keita. Other than that, same line up as before.
 
Unlikely that Klopp will put him straight in but, isn't Thiago available for this game? (if officially announced today)

think they have to be registered by 12 on Friday. So if already registered then maybe otherwise will have to wait
