    same here
    i like many have underlying health conditions and the slightest infection such as ecoli just recently really knocked me off my feet for a month
    covid would just take the piss

    yet some people will get it and not even know?

    my mate had it and was close to death

    my 50 yr old sister in law tested positive and was fine no symptoms

    yet her 20 yr old daughter, a smoker was very ill with it

    its not just about age

    I haven't had time for Covid data recently to be fair as we are back to BAU at work. I might dip in to the NHS data portal tomorrow though to see what's happening locally and nationally as it sounds like we are rushing towards local lockdown.

    I'm probably the same, but do these young people not leave a trail of this potent virus behind them as they move about just waiting for the old and vulnerable to come along and pick it up?

    Are they testing 4 times as many in this area as before...despite loads of people not being able to get tested because our areas test centres are taken off the booking website? Seems unlikely

    Are people with no symptoms just clogging it up?
    are they testing to see if youve got it now or if you’ve had it?

    The test at the bridge is to see if you have it now.
    Some people might be getting tested who don’t need to be, but the system sounds like there’s bigger problems than that. They obviously have less capacity in labs than they have for sticking buds up your nose.
    It’s ok though Dame Harding and Serco are on it...

    Perhaps the efficacy (read accuracy) of the tests has increased ? Or perhaps the number of asymptomatic participants in said tests compared to those with "symptoms" tested in the earlier stages have proportionally increased.
    The baselines may have changed since this all began.

    Or perhaps the Govt rushed to increase the capacity of the sites where people go to get swabbed so they could meet their self imposed targets of 200k plus a day (which was set ages ago from memory) but never arranged for enough capacity to test all the swabs if they actually did that many tests?

    Yeah, odd that as I got a direct link to it, but when I paste it here it goes behind the wall. There was a graph with daily cases per 100 tested and it rose sharply in September.

    Apparently, there's been a massive increase in people turning up for tests with no symptoms, but with very good tans. It seems many people who went on holiday were told by their employers that they'd have to take two weeks off unpaid unless they got negative tests, so claimed symptoms to get one.
