OK trolling around other clubs boards, and the Cardiff board has to be the most varieagated............ when you think that some of our most posted on threads are about music and /or about comedy or ridiculous concepts......well it's a refreshing place to come, we can talk football with the best of them, and have a lot of passionate and knowledgable fans, however we can go off on some pretty strange tangents. We have all heard about "the chirpy Cockney Sparrers" and we've all heard that every Scouser is " a born comedian", but we have a unique peculiar sense of humour in Cardiff, maybe not as celebrated as some other areas, perhaps others don't understand it?,,,,,,,,,,I think it's borne from being a multi-racial city for a long, long time.........very little racism, because no matter what colour, race or creed, every Cardiffian whether born or bred or adopted........well we get to "hate" the English on egg chasing days, and stick together against some of the anti Welsh rants, (a lot of which are tongue in cheek )............opposing fans know we will fight our corner with the best of them..............but I have to say we are the wierdest bunch on this forum. and I for one wouldn't have it any other way
Speak for yourself you mad old twat! Seriously though Proph, I think you're spot on fella. This board is made by the people who post on it. From the knowledgable and analytical to the passionate and wumming prone amongst us, through to the deeply experienced supporters with many years of recollections to relate. Whilst probably not unique, there can't be many others with such a variety of idiots posting on them - even if one of them is often me.
That sums this board for me I KNOW you mean it when you say stuff like that.................but it doesn't bother me for two reasons 1/ You are blue through and through and if any non Bluebird said it you would defend me 2/ You are older and madder than me.......can't argue with the twat bit though
Proph - in reply: - 1/ Correct 2/ Madder maybe, but not older - I was 11 when Hamburg broke our hearts, how about you?
i agree with the sense of humour bit proph, witness the john hughes for moderator thread in which we all have a bit of a laugh, then you get some sensitive prick on the swansea board making a meal of it and so on, sheeesh. its got to be the best forum, the amount of jacks, bristol fans, even leeds wums we get here proves how much of a pull we are to them
I've never been pulled by the WUMS...sounds painful I think the majority on here need to be slightly unhinged to keep up with some threads lol If we're about to run the country, I think we could form our own Monster Raving Loony Party. JH would make a good Screaming Lord Sutch
Swamp, chill dude, the reason i come here is for the banter and fun this board does provide, i know a few jacks are very sensitive but relax, it ain't the end of the world
Proph, Are you saying that us lot are as mad as a box of frogs ? http://downatthirdman.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/a-box-of-frogs-11.jpg
I was there aged 17, cried like a baby http://www.viddler.com/explore/diapers1927/videos/2/ Does that make me the board's official old ****
I was 14 (just) on that tragic night I cried like a baby as well you maybe older. but fair play you have never come across as a ****..........57 on Monday .......I will apologise in advance for ANYTHING I do, say do. or attempt to say or do in advance on Monday/Tuesday
The Rhondda is quite unique in its support for Cardiff, although not Cardiff born or bred the feeling of belonging and loyalty is passed from father to son. Added to the fact that valley boys enjoy a pint and a tear up happy days
Sorry M8 wasn't trying to alienate our valued and passionate support from the Valleys...........you are just as passionate (and if the truth be known MORE passionate) you can be as weird as us if you want...............................like you are not already
I don't feel alienated, its just the air is a bit thinner up here by the time we get to Cardiff we are all a bit loopy
Just got back to Cheshire having spent the night in the Rhondda, Porth to be specific. Came down to pick up Mam as she's staying with us for a week or two. Her birthday on Monday as well Proph. Spent quite a few days in Ninian Park herself as my dad was a mad keen sports fan, Cricket and Football in particular. He never quite got the rugby thing but watched quite a few of the games i played in over a 23 year period. Back to the Rhondda thing. Can never see myself moving back as I've been away too long. I do enjoy coming 'home' though and feel recharged by having been there. Hiraeth is the word! And as for me, I'm as sane as anyone on this board. Doesn't say much I know.
No, afraid not Rhondda - that's Porth......................................................................cawl
