Geezer barely plays ... think it would be one hell of a gamble as he has been average at best for over a year.

To dare is to do though right? ;)

Besides his version of average is still miles better than Lamela and Lucas. A run of a games in a side (injuries permitted) and he'd be good as gold I'd imagine.

He just scored 4 goals in his first half of football this season as Salzburg won 10-0. They stopped scoring after 57 minutes...
Not going to happen.

Just throwing out there another option: Eran Zahavi.
We supposedly tried in January when we were desperately looking for a striker. He is available; Fener were going to take him and have pulled out.

Surely he will take the next step like all their talent and join RB Leipzig
Haaland didn't. Losing Werner and Schick might've left them with an appropriate hole, though.
Hwang Hee-Chan did the RB switch to fill one of those vacancies. I think Daka might give the other one a swerve.
There's a lot of clubs looking at him right now and he may fancy his chances elsewhere.

Sky bet have made us favs for him. Where the **** do they think we’re getting £300k a week from?! <laugh>

Skybet make Spurs favourite to sign him, sky sports news report Spurs are working on deal to bring him back. Fans bet on deal happening. Then it all goes quiet. They done it for years with transfer rumours and made millions out of it

Yup, licence to print money.

Mail are saying a number of Championship and League One teams want Austin on loan.

I think if we do decide on selling Gazza (hope not), Whiteman stays as third choice.

A long-discussed topic here.

The law IMHO should be that any betting firm X is not allowed to advertise on any
'event' based media also owned by X (X news, X sports, print publications etc) .

I’ve seen both Fulham and Villa linked with other keepers the last few days so hopefully that indicates Gazza staying.

Sky and Skybet in conflict of interest? Can't be true.

For the first two seasons we had Llorente and had no need of anyone else. Since June last year we have spent more than 200m on players so the managers cannot have prioritised a striker. There is a discussion to be had about whether that is right or wrong but that tweet is more or less meaningless.

I think a new striker has only really been a priority since January, like you say when Llorente was here there was no need for one so to say 1100 days is pointless.

That said, he was released a year ago and still hasn’t been replaced and that is poor

That, or we just haven’t got a deal over the line. There’s far more to completing a transfer than throwing money at the situation.
